well, this has been done before in many ways (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but you need something to differentiate it from others, else it's just a journal entry turned deviation.
in order to do this you need a more personal approach (I remember there was this one deviation once called A tutorial to get DTF, I don't have the link handy with this guy that took a human shape and then added different elements: angel wings, scales and whatnot).
your piece isn't entirely fleshed out, it's more like a summary of sorts. you either need to get all the categories (you missed anthro gay stuff and the numerous photos of water: frozen water, drop of water on feather, cloth, butterfly whatever) and use some sort of gradation from the most innocent to the gravest offender or concentrate on a single one and let your sarcastic juices flow.
as to the style, there's not too much development so I can't really judge but you seem to have a penchant for stating the obvious such as "irony starts/ends here", "you can make a real piece of art". let the reader do some work, don't spoon feed it to him. not too mention that the above examples kill all the humor.

When I made this, I was staying up late at work (like almost every night) and wanted to take a break. This was a personal rant, then I thought I'd post it on DA. Hence its unsophisticated nature.
Really, it's been done before? I never knew.
This wasn't meant a a prose piece but rather as just a lash at the DA mainstream users. A summary, as you said. This was meant to attract the simple users: I think the catchy cover art made it meet with unexpected success, exactly what I had intended. I made it simple because I wanted to get my point through, quickly and clearly.
I'd love for you to go through my gallery and criticize the hell out of my pieces... I want to improve. Currently my style is weak and relies heavily on raw, spoken word, as in " Heartbreakers and Heartmenders" (which still awaits your critique...)
My poetry comes either as spoken word, of very rhythm-and-rhyme-based. I need better vocabulary, and stronger metaphores, as mine are too transparent.
I still have many p&p pieces to submit, but I still have to work on their cover art (an important point for me, being an aspiring visual artist as well).

You're absolutely right about the " stating the obvious" part, I do that a lot. I must work on it in my upcoming pieces.

I'll try to go over more of your pieces, but I can't promise anything because I'm in my senior year and I have a great deal of many projects and very little time to spare (except the heartbreaks, i already read that).
I completely understand about the cover art, I always take great care of mine even though I'm not that good with graphic stuff.

you do have better art, though a definition of quality is seldom worth anything for art is, to all and most means, a matter of taste.
