Description Calm seascape in a parallel dimension.
Full view would be preferred.

I like to soar
in open skies,
detached from body
and mind

forever gone
yet never lost,

plunging down
toward blue waters
and rising into purple air,
at the speed of will

looping in between
silver suns
hanging on
eternal threads

resting on orange mesas
in lush green avenues

forever free,
forever lost.

2 hours, using one layer and one brush. Not easy for me...
Finishing touches with adjustment layers.

Trying out Photoshop CS. The CS version is very much improved.
From a digipainter's point of view, the best feature is that you can pan the canvas across the screen while in full screen mode: very helpful for brushstrokes along the edges.

More abstract scapes to come. What do you think?

Great composition, great depth. An excellent abstract! Your compositions and balance, symmetry, etc, always feel right. I would definitely like to see more of these!

i could never dream of drawing with ps. you use a mouse? that's pretty hard..
anyways i love the colors in this and the composition.. very neat.. also looks pretty as your website button.
i also love the flow both horizontally and vertically (the spheres) esp the ghost spheres are awesome details

wow - this is really Amazing..

I love the warm yet - "alien like" colors, as well as the spheres
The light areas makes it so fresh and full of depth.. you've really done wonders with that..
Looks like an ocean view and the piece on the left is a cliff.. and the piece on the right looks like - something not out of this world..
My eyes get drawn to those sphers... it's like an illusion..

Beautiful..

When looking at your poem - I can see things;

The way you soar... the movement you are describing in your poems..
Is visualized by that white light one can see in the middle of the pic..
how it moves to the left - towards those orange mesas and lush green avenues..

And those "silver suns hanging on eternal threads" are they a symbol for tears?
In the beginning you talk about being forever free - yet never lost,
after being detached from body and mind...
And when looping in between those silver suns..
and then later rest on orange mesas and lush green avenues you speak of forever free - forever lost?

It almost sound like a journey through life.. ?
How to soar - being detached - rise - the speed of will-
looping in between silver suns (tears?) - on eternal threads (the world/universe/life?)
To later.. die and rest on orange mesas and green avenues...
It's then you are forever free - yet forever lost..

In my eyes your image is of life..
The eternal struggle - to find oneself..
To live... and to fulfil ones dreams..

wow, you noticed 'never lost/forever lost'!

I'm glad you thought about what most people don't even see! I'm not surprised you did.

It's so interesting to hear people's interpretation, it's like you're reading my mind! The silver suns didn't really mean anything, but yeah, maybe my mind meant tears... but all the rest applies perfectly! it's indeed a distant expression of life's journey.

Great thoughts, thanks! I couldn't have explained it better.

I am surprised you managed to follow the way I thought..
I've slept bad and - well last day in school before Easter Holiday..
So My mind is kinda out of function

I am glad I managed to interpret somewhat correct
You're an excellent artist.. indeed

hey, I'm thinking of doing an impression of that dream you had... that big room with the two stairs on the sides going up to bathrooms... very inspiring, surreal.

May I try? with credit to you, of course.

I preffer photoshop 5, I work with it a lot of time, the new improves can be, sometimes not easyly, make with olders versions (only a opinion).
I hate the abstract, in Spain, if the paint is not abstract, is not art (say the experts), you know: Picasso, DalΓ, MirΓ³, Tapies... In my life I see too abstract art, and only a bit likes me.

blackzer0 In reply to Ensis [2004-02-20 11:19:34 +0000 UTC]

mmyes, here it's the opposite... if the art is abstract, it's not art.

Me, I like abstract... but of course, I like almost all styles.
