Very cool mech design. And i dig the little battle scenario.
1 little unsolicited suggestion; color scheme between the mech and tank are somewhat similar. I'd make the color difference between them more dramatic, to emphasize the idea of enemy factions.Β Β

Thanks Rob! Great point about the color schemes, they are quite similar now that you mention it.
I suppose technically they would both have pretty similar schemes due to the area they're operating in, but you're right about them being a bit too close in style. If I do something similar to this scene I'll make sure they're more different next time.

From a tactical POV, you're totally right. Their camo is doing it's job. (I'm haunted by the voice of internalized art directors telling me stuff like this though -how to make stuff pop, enhance design, readability, etc..)
I find that Camo is always the enemy of composition. It's purpose is to make something invisible, or visually confusing. But that's the exact opposite of a designer's job. So you need to cheat it somehow. Actually, putting those vines behind the mech like you did is a perfect step in that direction.Β Helps push him away from that wall.

I second that camo is the enemy of composition! I actually experimented with giving the tank some barracuda camouflage netting and even putting on a sort of vine camouflage pattern to match with the buildings, but it worked too well to the point where it was almost invisible from afar so I instead settled with this simple two-tone camo pattern.
And thank you kindly! I'm honestly surprised how well this piece has done.
