Description
"Maintenance personnel of the 801st Special Mission Unit work quickly to repair a malfunctioning signal tower on the east side of Outpost 34, before an approaching dust storm."---
Despite all of our advances in space travel, science, and technology, things still break down in the future.

Really nice gallery, man!
BTW this looks like pixel art. It wasn't done in MS Paint, was it?

Thank you!
It was partially done in Microsoft Paint. The astronauts, the vehicle, signal tower, and general scene layout was done in MS Paint, and it was then put into Paint.NET for the main meat of the work.

This is very reminiscent ofΒ Paul Inglis art style; it's just a sight to behold. Excellent work BlastWaves.

Very neat! It's almost Halo-esque in the design of the buildings, the vehicles, and the soldiers' armor (of course, maybe this was your intent) and the obscurity of the background details with the encroachment of the sandstorm creates, as is done in the Halo games, a building feeling that something big and maybe bad is on the way. Will they fall under attack? Will the sandstorm swallow them up before they can return home safely? For now they're just men doing their jobs, but the way you've set up the scene makes one wonder for how much longer they'll be just that.
Great work on this!

Thank you kindly!
While it wasn't really intentional, I can see what you mean by their armor and the general feel of the scene.

Not a problem Whether we're aware of them or not, I think our influences always find their way into the works we produce as artists. It's not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination, and in fact it adds an extra layer of depth to the piece for anyone who picks up on them.Β

This is a really great looking scene!
Can you tell me what those massive sails are in the distance?

Thanks!
I'd imagine they'd be an array of large generators or simply futuristic skyscrapers/apartment complexes used on other planets.
