Description
First, sorry for any misspellings. Second, I have MOVED my non-anthro art to a new account: . Still using this one for my anthro art.Not many people enjoy doing real-looking non-animeish eyes these days, I think that's sad... figured I would make this, especially since most eye tutorials are animeish anyways. This is my attempt at a realistic eye. There are many different colors and shapes of course, and ways to give an eye expression. This is just the basics though. First tutorial I ever made, I hesitated to make it cos I really don't have much knowledge about Photoshop. You'll find this to be very simple, of course you don't have to use my technique, actually you can probably do much better! I only use the set PS brushes and I never use layers, but you can change it and do it however you like. Hopefully this will inspire you anyways!!

i agree with you in how everyone only seems to draw anime now. i used to, but now that i'm in business for my traditional portraits, i've realised how much i love realism, so i've been trying to find good realistic cg tutorials. THANKYOU FOR THIS!!!

i like doing realistic eyes better- they're way more detailed and fun than anime eyes, which can only be so fun after awhile. your tutorial rocks.

Kudos for this! But now you should do one for eye's structure (irises' postion and o on) - even ones made by pros (like those of some palystation games) often look very unnatural and weird!

I just wanted to compliment you on this tutorial. As a raw photoshop beginner and not a great traditional artist I find most photoshop tutorials very daunting, often starting from half completed images and using terms assuming the person reading knows all about photoshop and the tools. So I really appreciate that you have started from the most basic point and explain why you're doing what you're doing and why you're using the tools you use. You've made a really amazing end look seem acheivable even to a newbie like myself

Firstly,this eye,has a different air that makes me like it more than the first you did,maybe thanks to the iris.I think is a good idea to do a tutorial without using layers,it is better for photshop novices.This is a very good first tutorial with clear steps and images for reference.

Some of the text to the furthest right side seems to be cropped off, though most of it can still be made out from the context. Anyway, I was utterly in awe when I first saw the eye drawing itself this morning, and apparently you're really good at making tutorials too. You really are amazingly talented, and everything you draw is beautiful in its own way. :3 This is one of the things I admire about you.
