Description
Let this one lovely flower show you what it is to be who you are, to be bold enough and daring enough to be true to yourself.EDIT 17 July 2017:
The original photo posted here was troublesome to look at, honestly. The camera I used did not enjoy recording shades of red (including yellow and pink). This meant that the red petals had zero depth (no shadows or highlights) and the yellow areas were blown out. The grassy area had so much grain and more detail than the flower so it was the part that your eye gave attention to. I am happy to say, that even though I couldn't do anything with the grain on the petals, the post processing I did today made this photo appealing to the eyes. There is depth in the petals and nothing is blown out in color any long. The grass doesn't scream for attention anymore either! I'm not fully satisfied with this photo yet, but this is the best I can do with it for now.
EDIT 17 March 2023:
This is probably my final edit of this particular photo. It was just not a good photo when it came to it's quality. I decided to crop it in to eradicate some of the distracting clutter and debris around the edges of the original photo. I am not now, nor will I ever bee 100% satisfied with this photo or its edits. But that's okay! It gave me the chance to learn from past mistakes in photography which I may have never noticed. Working on this photo again has also taught me something about myself that I didn't realize before. I used to be the kind of person who thought that editing your photos was a very bad, misleading, and dishonorable thing to do. That I already knew. I've drastically changed my mind on those views. However, I noticed that I am just now coming around to allowing myself to crop photos in different proportions/orientations from the original. I think I thought of doing this as defacing the photo. It always bothered me to cut physical photos, and that had followed me to the digital realm. The good news is now that I know that, I can work on it!
