Time, wish of the Sacrifice. || 30inch tall x something wide || watercolourThis is a new cover for ASPS Part 2 [link] and is the 4th addition to my series of paintings dedicated to high vocabulary words that start with s. Although sacrifice isn't really a high vocab word ... but you know it COULD be. The other three are Saternine, Sanguine, and Sanctify. I drew this idea in June, redrew in July, partially colored in photoshop in August, lost my file in August, transferred drawing to watercolour paper in September, painted in October, and am finally done after scanning it NINE TIMES. AT 400 DPI. (clap please) Note - if you hadn't figured it out yet, I title my serious deviations l i k e t h i s.
I might post another deviation later of detail shots.

I think this would be an incredibly surreal/morbid picture if you left the umbrellas and clock and stuff, but took out the guy.
I mean, it definitely looks good the way it is now and I know your meaning kind of revolves on him. I just wanted to mention it. It would look so symbolic and I like stuff like that, which is why I noticed.

This is one of my favorite pieces of all time- though I'm a huge fan of all your work. You did such a wonderful job on it! I'm glad it got a DD is so deserves it! I love your comic too. If ever I get enough money, I'm buying a print. XD

Ah, before I forget- I want to thank you- and not just for your wonderful art! It was because of comics like yours and Redemption that inspired me to start my own webcomic. Granted, it's no where near as good as yours and really slow going. But it's really helped me with my ADD because it gives me something to focus on. So- Thank you!

wow - loved it! i also loved the umbrellas, despite the number, they still cant keep the guy dry. the crows also add a macabre feel! but...an i might be sounding really stupid here....wheres the sacrifice? i see the guy etc, but cant see how he is being sacrificed! urm...probly just my crap observation skills

....Right? (innocent deer-in-the-headlights blink) Oopsies...
Your color scheme (or coloring method? *blink*blink*) Makes it look like, say, there has been rain dripping on the painting, making it look a little washed out, which is appropriate, considering that the fellow with the umbrellas is standing, well... in the rain. Makes for a calm, rather stoic mood.
Beautiful, in a sad sort of way. He dropped all his umbrellas, poor man...^^

The second I saw this picture I thought "If this wasn't chosen as a Daily Deviation, asses are going to be kicked." The style of this is extremely out of the blue and beautifully surreal, something I really don't see together! Now that's a loophole, huh.....The colors are vibrantly dreary, especially the way you painted the ground, which seems to almost reflect what's above. The upside down umbrellas also seem to have hidden meaning, and that's just cool ^.^ A definate favorite, for it is quite inspiring for traditional artists out there.
