Description Mutations occur when there is an error somewhere in a Hyro's DNA sequence. These errors occur during the sequence's generation. This sheet showcases the kind of mutations a Hyro may incur. Most are self-explanatory, but a few have more information below. If you have questions about other mutations shown here, please ask.

What's the difference between Dermal Horns and Large Subdermal Horns?
Dermal Horns are horns that do not have skin or fur on them. Think of deer and how their antlers sprout off the skull and do not have fur or skin growing on them. Dermal horns do not typically get much larger than the example shown. All Hyros have the chance of being created with small subdermal horns. Subdermal horns can only be slightly curved and always pointed, like Oni horns. Once they reach the size of the example on the sheet, they are considered large and a mutation. Please note that even with the Dermal Horns mutation, your Hyro can only have HORNS, and not ANTLERS.

The Masked Mutation
Hyros with this mutation can present it in different ways. The mask may have naturally occurring markings or it may not. It may have small spikes and horns (like regular Hyros) or none at all. The sharpness of the corners of the mask can be different, and the colors it could be are variable. The two things all Masked Hyros have in common are what the masks are made of and the broken mouth-like crack they all have. Masks are made up of a sheet of bone-like material and it cracks when the Hyro opens their mouth for the first time. The mask itself is fused to the skin of the Hyro and cannot be removed as it would result in pain. The state of the mask can deteriorate if not cared for properly and cracks can worsen.

The Whisp Antenna Mutation
Hyros with Whisp Antenna present it in both ears. This mutation adds tertiary antennas that have a small, floating orb at the ends of them. The orb can be any shape as long as it is small and it can glow.

The Gem Growth Mutation
There's a chance a Hyro could be generated with gems growing out of their skin. These gems can be any shape but always stay close to the body and do not grow tall. They can be made of any gemstone.

Metallic Traits Mutation
This mutation is unique in the sense it can affect some other mutations or not. Metallic mutations can affect the nails, teeth, horns, plating, or gem growths of the body. It turns whatever it affects into metal, including gemstones. Gemstones would be made of metal. This mutation cannot affect the masked or skeletal mutation,

Multiple Codepods Mutation
Hyros can have up to 8 codepods without a mutation. If they have this mutation, they can have anywhere from 9 to 20 total codepods.

The Skeletal Mutation
Hyros with this mutation can have rib-like structures around their torso, skeletal tails, and spines/vertebrae lining their spine. This mutation cannot be affected by the metallic traits mutation, as the material these growths are made up of are not the same.

The Santiago Mutation
Santiago is a strange mutation because it seems somewhat normal. The fur these Hyros have grows extremely long in the locations shown on the example. The fur type can vary and could be rough, springy, silky or poofy. If left ungroomed, the fur could get dirty and tangled very easily. Normal Hyros don't have hair or fur that never stops growing because the maximum length it could be is written in their DNA sequence.

The Small Wings Mutations
Small Wings can be either bat/dragon like or bird like. The maximum wingspan for small wings is shown in the examples. They can be smaller, too. Some wings may be functional in the sense they can flap, but these wings are always too small to be used for flight.

Multiple Tails Mutation
Hyros with this mutation can have anywhere from 2 to 10 tails total. They can be a mix of tails as well.

The Cape Wings Mutation
This mutation is the closest a Hyro can get to flying as these "wings" can be used to glide short distances. The skin like flap always connects to the tail and up the back.
