Description
This started out as a sketch for a contest, but after spending a long time drawing all those lines I decided to finish it off. Brown ink and gouache.Related content

okay I would be totally freaked out if that happened to me oddly enough though I like the idea of trees turning into sinister creatures....on paper

I really like the way you managed to get that nightmare oddness which expresses well the lost feeling.
The technique you used here is one I particularly appreciate too
This is very cute almost like a children illustrated book.
Goos work !

Oh, my...! Good that this isn't a picture of orcs and stuff, for then you would have drawn my nightmares. I can't walk alone in the woods at night, for my fantasy creates all these things (THINGS!) that want to kidnap me or hurt me. It just scares the hell out of me...
The creatures here remind me of a story I read some time ago, based on some legends and such. Can't remember what the name of the story was, but there was this crane butler. ^_^
*shivers* That fox-man scares me...

Beautiful!
You are really talented.
I love your style.
You should illustrate books as a job (in case you don't do it already).

I love how the animal figures blend in with the trees. It makes it spookier.
I would like star pjs like the little girl's. Her teddy bear is so sweet. I hope he can protect her.

Beautifull, it's cartooney, yet fairy-tail realistic (if there is such a thing ) Love your work

Aww ... that's so scary. I remember one time when I was little, at a family bonfire my cousins got me lost in the woods at night. Well, I was only like, fifty feet away from the parking lot, but the forest felt exactly like that. You've really captured the freaky surreality of being lost in a scary place. I remember I was a lot more scared than that kid is, though.

This kind of reminds me of the movie "Spirited Away". Young girl among strange things in a strange place. I'd want to hold my stuffie tight too if I was alone like that.
Great work! ^_^

such a wonderful illustration. It's something one would expect to adorn the pages of a children's story.

Beautiful depiction of childhood fears... the part that really catches my eye is the forest itself, with the marvelously executed creatures and shadows, and the dappled pinks of her cheeks and the shading on her yellow pants. It is interesting that she does not really look scared... sort of, suprised and anticipating? It is like the picture should be frightening, but since she isn't afraid, it is simply whimsical. Very nice.

This is beautiful. It reminds me of the sort of thing you'd seen in an Alice in Wonderland painting.
