Description First of all, sorry for all the updates but I am getting so much valuable feedback that I am going to take advantage of it. Seriously, I've taken everything everyone has said to heart and as you can see, I am trying my best to correct the flaws in my scene. That said, I want to thank everyone for the amazing comments and as you can see, I need to do more with this render as I personally think I've really strayed from my original path...

Not a finished piece.
Scene rendered in Cinema 4D.
All models created by me in Cinema 4D.

you should use IES lights, that would make it truely photorealistic. (IES lights are lights based on physical models, you can define the kelvin temp, the lumen value, or cadena values, but make sure your models are physically correct, that wine glass isn't 10 meters high )

First of all, where can I find out more about IES lights and secondly, does Cinema 4D support IES lights?

I like that. Maybe the spot over-shoots a little in the corner. The design is very cool.

Cool design! Nice lights and reflections on the floor. I like it cause it's not very harsh. Suitable for the girls of the future.

WOW. THat's really nice. My only suggestion is that you make the pattern in the tiles a bit stronger.

Other than that, this is a great piece.

You've managed to capture a great sense of bright lighting. It's bright- but not uncomfortably so. You've got it just right for a brightly lit room. It's got good 'Vibes'!

Holy crap, this is REALLY coming along.

Very nice job! At this point I might play around with the lighting just a bit more and then think about how I could wear down the stuff in the room to make it more realistic... or otherwise give it texture. I'm not saying it doesn't look believable, it looks great
:moot:

it's be funny if you had a really "traditional" painting in the frame...like a landscape oil painting or something. kinda like....a contrast of really modern vs. "traditional". or maybe it'd just look ridiculous. dunno. i do like the additions you made thus far. the lighting in the corner still seems a bit bright, but others have already mentioned that. another lovely update!

ahaha i love the addition of the socket--now it looks more home-y. i still think that the weird tree deco thing looks out of place, i mean it is a really interesting piece and a surefire conversation starter but it looks odd among the rest of the pieces. it looks too smooth and weird. i like the look of the glass of the table, it really does look like glass. and i see you lightened the color of the ceiling. the wallhanging picture looks good, although sometimes it looks like it's hanging in midair, i guess thats cos the wall's so white. the lighting in that corner of the room looks really bright--would it really wash out the line where one wall meets the other in that corner? the couch looks pretty good, but is there any way you could make it look softer? it looks like a really hard couch.

well ok there u have it. my attempt to give comments that actually help. hope it does. ^^

Albedo1980 [2004-05-26 20:03:17 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...

It's very, very good. the sofa's texturing looks great, the walls are amazing, the detail of that thing where we plug the electrodomestics and stuff in teh wall are jsut perfect, the floor tile is looking very good indeed.

Still, I would change a few things.... for an example, to me the lighting is still a bit too 'light', the edges of the board/mirror (which is the case?) are a bit too 'sharp', adn the glass texture is too 'clean', which gives slightly away the 'realistic feel' of the scene. I dunno, if the glass weren't that 'shiny'...

But it's really wonderful. I would never be able to make something as good as your scene. I <3 it dearly and probably would like my living room to look anything close to this!!!

Skokie [2004-05-26 19:29:15 +0000 UTC]

Very nice... It looks like you've got the lighting down to where it looks pretty realistic. The floor tile looks cool and I like the choice of artwork... I think a burning smoke in the ashtray would look cool and add some subtle movement to the scene... just a thought.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

bluespeed9 In reply to Skokie [2004-05-29 01:33:17 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking about that smoke idea but then I figured it was something that I should wait for the final render for. Still, glad to see someone else thinks it's a good idea.
