Description
Purpose:• The main purpose of this extension is to display your current deviantART "message centre" items/counts in your statusbar (lower-right corner of the browser).
Current Version:
• The latest version is 0.9.1 as of 12/20/06.

Compatability Issues:
• Doesn't appear to work with ChromEdit.
To Install:
(1) Click the "download to desktop" button (alternatively, you can right click on the download link and choose to "Save Target As").
(2) Save the file as "deviantMessage.xpi".
(3) Once the download is complete, open the file in your browser (File -> Open File) and allow it to install itself.
(4) After installation, close Firefox.
(5) Reopen Firefox and go to "Tools -> Extensions", select deviantMessage and hit "Options" to set preferences.
Miscellaneous:
• If you encounter any problems please note me.
• If you use this plugin, please let me know what browser and version you're using.
• This works on the latest versions of Firefox, Mozilla and Netscape. It's been indicated that it works on Linux, Mac and PC.

This seems pretty useful, I no longer have to point my browser to DA for the sole purpose of checking messages.

i've dowload it and found it in the extensions thingies and all .. so .. why doesn't it show ??
or .. how does it shows and where and what to do if i can't see it anywhere ?

I think this is awesome, and I hate saying this after you've done so much to make it already, but I hope you come up with a version of this for Safari. I tried it on several mac's with Firefox, and it hasn't shown any of the messages I've gotten today...

I tried to install this on the latest version of Firefox and it doesnt seem to work (It doesnt install when I open it from the browser)

I dont know if this deviant arts problem, but recently it has been taking alot longer for the plug-in to notify me of new messages.

Must be something with deviantART or, check your update frequency in the options to make sure it's set at a low update interval.

I'm not sur if this is a problem or anything, but I thought I'd let you know about it. When you click on the messages on the bottom of the screen, I remember that it would send me to my messages and now it sends me to your main page... So.. if you could make it go to messages in your next upgrade, if at all possible... that would be great!
