Description
Purpose:• The main purpose of this extension is to display your current deviantART "message centre" items/counts in your statusbar (lower-right corner of the browser).
Current Version:
• The latest version is 0.9.1 as of 12/20/06.

• Please go here to see the full list or to leave a suggestion.
Compatability Issues:
• Doesn't appear to work with ChromEdit.
To Install:
(1) Click the "download to desktop" button (alternatively, you can right click on the download link and choose to "Save Target As").
(2) Save the file as "deviantMessage.xpi".
(3) Once the download is complete, open the file in your browser (File -> Open File) and allow it to install itself.
(4) After installation, close Firefox.
(5) Reopen Firefox and go to "Tools -> Extensions", select deviantMessage and hit "Options" to set preferences.
Miscellaneous:
• If you encounter any problems please note me.
• If you use this plugin, please let me know what browser and version you're using.
• This works on the latest versions of Firefox, Mozilla and Netscape. It's been indicated that it works on Linux, Mac and PC.

First and foremost, let me apologize if this question has already been asked.
If, for some reason, deviantMessage becomes uncompatible with any new releases of FireFox, will there be upgrades available? I love this extension, and would hope the creator would want people to continue to use it if such problem did arise.
Anyway, enough blabbering..love the extension m8!

There's nothing wrong with deviantMessage, it's just that deviantART's backend server which deviantMessage uses is down -- hopefully, it will be back up soon.

I've had a lot of strange numbers popping up as of late - is the backend messing up a lot? More often than not, it reports wrong figures, and some bizarre ones I'm not sure how it decided how it got, and then it corrects, then goes back etc.
Currently it says 18D and I have 49D, 25J, 1P, which I'm sure it said once earlier today.
I use FF1.5, if that makes any difference

Ah, okay. I thought it's a suddenly incompatibility with Firefox 1.5, although it still did work after installing.

Strange, but it has stopped working for me here at home and at work. I'm running 1.5 both places, but it was working fine before. I haven't installed any other extension yesterday or today, but I'm wondering if one of them may be messing with it. I'm going to spend some time troubleshooting it tomorrow and see what's up.

I love this extension and I don't know how I lived without it before... One problem though, I've had foxfire 1.5 for 2 weeks and suddenly the extension doesn't work anymore. I can't figure it out.

Hey umm im on windows xp right, and i clicked download to desktop and it told me I could either open it or save it or whatever and that it was a zip. So I saved it, then opened it, but could not find an xpi file anywhere? There was .jar and .rdf but no xpi ?? How could I download this? :S

I've solved the problem. The plugin will only work when installed into profile, and will not install globally. To acces settings in Mozilla you have to right-click the bar where DA notifications are displayed.

When, i download any extentions for Firefox their icon is a RTF looking thing, and if i open it, it gives me the error, is not a valid Win32 application.
