That's an alternative reality:After the victory on the Civil War, and after escape from an attempt of murder, the president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, gives an interview to Karl Marx, from New York Tribune.
Marx, on his articles, praises Lincoln for his efforts against the slavery.

Well, my teacher at university told me Marx really wrote some articles for the New York Tribune about the Civil War, and seems to be his views about Lincoln was positive.
I'm looking for these articles, it's very difficult to find Marx' little known writings in portuguese...

They were apparently communicating by mail shortly before he was assassinated; I think that was why Harry Turtledove chose to make Lincoln the founder of the American Socialist Party in his TL-191.
