Description
As promised, to celebrate reaching 200 watchers I did a redraw of one of my old drawings.I let you choose the one you wanted to see, and of course you chose something with Amerus and drama in it, because you and I have the same addictions.
I'm not saying it was always pleasant, cause I was self-concious about not progressing enough.
It might explain why I overcompensated with the decor (pillows, blanket).
Some of the memes out there show such dramatic progress in only a year or two...
To tell you the truth, I was terrified the "before" would end up looking better than the "after".
I really, really hope you like it.
What is it about?
This drawing captures a moment when Alfred and Ivan are making out, and as Ivan starts kissing Alfred lower, Al sees for the first time his bare shoulder, and the nasty stab wounds he has there. He stops Ivan and asks him where these marks come from, and Ivan just answers "My sister. Don't worry about it." and keeps kissing him, trying to distract him. Al would like to insist but he can sense Ivan really doesn't want to talk about it.

Yes, but in this story, she was mentally ill. There were times when she was dangerous for everyone including herself, and times when she was aware of things, and she was just normal. Ivan doesn't want do dwelve on it because it hurts of course, and he's angry about it, but he also knows that it's not completely her fault and she is very sorry she did that.

You can definitely see progress here! in many ways. Positioning, it looks less clunky, and of course colour and detail. Its a definite show of improvement over years of practice ^^ i like the addition of more background in the new one. Its really well coloured and all in all just as evocative as the original was, if not more so.

Thank you! All in all it was an interesting experience, even if of course a bit stressful^^ I should do another sometime, with a more recent drawing that looks already nice, to see what I can do with that. But yeah, later^^ I'm gonna spare myself the stress of it for some time^^

Omg trust me; you have greatly improved. It is beautiful. Adding the decor only shows your abilities in other areas of composition, it doesn't take away the fact that your figures have improved.

Don't try and compare yourself to anyone but again, without a bit of self criticism, we don't grow as artists so it's okay to not be as impressed with your own work as everyone else is. Maybe in a couple years, you could do this again and I'm sure you'll have gone beyond once again!

Thank you so much!!! It is true that I enjoy drawing backgrounds more and more. This one was particularly interesting cause litterally nothing goes together, which creates a loudΒ busy environment. It might not be super pretty idk? I guess I kind of like when things don't match well, cause it seems more realistic or comfortable to me?XD I should try to make backgrounds with lots of details but still some harmony to it though, it would be much more pleasing to everyone's eyes! ^^

I think it's pretty. I didn't have matchingΒ bed sheets and covers and pillow cases for a good amount of my life so I don't see it as being so wrong.
Some harmony isn't a bad thing, but until manufacturersΒ showed up, a lotΒ of things we had never really matched.
Now a lot of people think that they have to have everything match.Β
