Description
Don't mess with a tea drinker Vinyl. We can get pretty snappy when our supply is cut off.
So, the wardens are making their usual inspection of all the rooms in the University Halls this week, though they never say which specific date they intend to visit. This is pretty bad news for me as it means I have to hide the kettle I have in my room between 9-5 every day until they've been round. Why do I have to do this you ask? Well, strictly speaking, I'm not meant to have it in my room due to my contract, but the kettle in the kitchen takes three times longer to boil, so I'm prepared to bend them a little.
Octavia looks a little like me between 9-5 at the moment.

Last time the power went out here was when something was token from the plant. I was heading home at the time, and it actually made me jump when the entire streets around us just suddenly wet pitch black.

I can only imagine how creepy that is. It reminds me somewhat of down on the south coast where my Dad lives, there's a road near his house which is a hardly used bypass which winds it's way through the coastal marshes. It's perfect in day time, but at night when the fog comes in it hovers around your knees, and all around you all you can see it reeds and long grass. It's quite unnerving.

I remember being on holiday in bodrum (Turkey) where the hotel we were on was out of nowhere, with only a dirt road on a cliff face getting to it. During the day it was fine, but during the night it was pitch black, where you couldn't see passed about a metre from the bus you needed to get to get there.
But you knew that passed there was a big cliff with a lake (river? Don't remember) at the bottom, and the fact that the bus leaned a lot didn't help. Gave me panic attacks every time.

Heh, I can relate a little to Tavi here, actually. Yesterday morning, the power was out in my town for most of the morning...made it hard to keep myself busy since most of my activities necessitate a computer.

What was even freakier about that incident is the night before the power outage, my little sister, kind of randomly, asked, "wouldn't it be weird if the power went out tomorrow, and they had to cancel school and stuff?" So imagine my reaction the next morning, when the power goes out. All I could think of for the next five or so minutes was "she JINXED us!"

Lol, I thought it should be Octavia that is complaining because she can't find power to play her wubs.

It was probably the wubs that broke the power in the first place.

The fire is all wrong anyways. You always start with the kindling (small twigs and branches) and dry brush (leaves and moss) before adding in the full size logs. This will take forever to set on fire.

"Wait a minute, you're a unicorn!"
"Uh yeah, I thought we had that settled when we first met each other."
"No no no, that's not it! Use your magic, set this log on fire!"
"Hey, I like pyrotechnics as much as the next pony, but...I'm not good with fire spells."
"Ah come on, what's the worst that could happen?"
"Wow, this is weird. I'm usually the one who says that."
