Description
This is an idea that has been passed around in the forums , and also one that I've had in my mind for a while.Here is a transcription of the notes in the above image:
When the user clicks 'Watch this deviant' from someone's userpage, they are taken here as an intermediate step before seeing their deviantWATCH list.
This step protects the user from accidentally adding users they didn't want to, i.e. in a situation where they clicked a fraudulent link, or if they changed their mind.
This area is initially blank if the text box is empty. The avatar automatically appears when the username is found, otherwise shows a question mark.
If 'Add New Group' is clicked, an extra text box appears, allowing you to type the group name.
Having the standard checkboxes here allows the user to select what they want to watch without having to do it through the deviantWATCH tables.

It is so simple and so useful ! I always watch scraps so it is always a hassle to scroll down the whole list to check it.

I particularly like this idea because I don't add that everyone as a friend automatically and I always watch scraps. I like being able to customize without the hassle of strolling through my numerous watchlist. Excellent job

I thought of this going in a DHTML div instead of showing a new page, because often I want to continue visiting the deviant after adding.

Originally, the interface was designed to be a replacement for the /add/deviant/ page, because when they got rid of it, people could no longer make hyperlinks to allow people to add them to others' watch lists. I guess the moment has long passed, and, indeed, a snazzy modal dialog would be the expected next generation in watch buttons.

Scraps are definitely under-promoted at the moment. I guess some people aren't ever interested in seeing WIPs and other things.

i like this, it just makes managing your watch list much nicer, i know i personally don't want everyone i watch on my friends list ... i watch them for their art only. and its frustrating that they are auto-friend status in this system and you have to sort them after the fact.
this is a huge improvement, you can select what actions you want to take with the user, and pre select their group. this would be a very welcomed addition in my eyes.

This is badly needed - the biggest qualm I have with the friends system here is that putting people in groups isn't a one-click thing when you add them. Let's hope this makes it to the new pages!

This is a good idea. I ended up getting a lot of journals from people when I only wanted to view their artwork until I set the devwatch to not send me their journals. Also, I like to even see the scraps of some people I watch, but the default setting is to not send links to those.

Yes, and when I watch someone I then have to re-add them, choosing a group as I do so. THEN I have to tick and un-tick the appropriate boxes. 3 steps, that should be made into one.

This is an excellent concept. Adding a deviant straight off their page then having to find them on the long list never made much practical sense to me.
