Description Okay so this piece is linked to a bunch of my other drawings. I created a bunch of character models, check them out in my gallery -- there's too many to link in here.

Anyway, this is the finished piece all those were created in preparation for! An Autobot mining colony based on the Animated aesthetic!

Tell me watcha think!

I remember seeing this on TFW2005 boards!
What struck me with this is that you understand what Transformers Animated's style was going for- it wasn't about just tweaking a G1 character in to looking goofy or just making them stylized; it was about a caricature and giving a character a definable personality through their profile.
Hoist and Twintwist are my favorites amongst the guys here(and I REALLY like the inclusion of the minicons, modified targetmasters, and, what I assume, is one of the mail-away TFs((the blue dude with the drill; the terminology/faction name for that specific type of TF escapes me at the moment)) ).
I like the decision to push pieces back by making their hue more cooler. The coloring style reminds me of the non-digital coloring techniques used(or still used in some cases) in comics, but the cel-shading feels off in some places (specifically with Hoist and Dinotron((?)), as well as on Quickswitch).

I agree with ~Tha-C , I would love to see more group shots like this! You do fantastic work with large "scene" images!

The blue guy is actually a MICROMASTER -- the Micromaster partner of Japanese base Road Fire, his name is Drill Buster.

I agree with most of your comments on the colours -- colours are always something I struggle with more than layouts or inking or design. That's why I don't do them too much -- I guess I could improve this piece, but I'm mostly happy with it.

I can see why you're happy with it. Overall, nothing is really taken away from the image. I'm very much impressed with how you handle large scenes like this. Despite that not all the characters are DIRECTLY interacting, there is a strong sense OF interaction in the piece- like there's a large conversation spanning across multiple rooms of Transformers cracking mining jokes or complaining about labor.
Thanks for the heads up on Drill Buster! I didn't know he was a Micromaster- but now I know(and knowing is half the battle!!).

This is crazy-awesome. I demand more group shots in this vein (or artery, whatever)!

Despite being in the animated style, the whimsical nature reminds me of the G1 comic, not a bad thing.
