Impressive detail and wonderful sheen for his mechanical body! Are you using white charcoal for this?

There's some white conte there. But mostly it's just a process of laying down charcoal, then rubbing it back with an eraser or a piece of paper.

Charcoal (like pastel) can be challenging. (At least to me!) But you seem to be pulling it off nicely!

It just takes time. what's great about it is you can keep working and working and working at the paper until you have something you're really happy with.
