So this is a very old request from Bentley96 that I finished yesterday. I had a lot of fun with this one as normally I draw nature while this was all mechanical and structural. Needless to say this request drove me crazy because when I first accepted it, I could not create solid lines or colors for the life of me. But I have gotten much more familiar with my program and so here are my results. Hope you all like this as well as you, Bentley.Related content

I've been seeing this a lot, so I thought, "What the heck, I'll help an artist out today."
Vision: You have a full background and foreground, which puts you past 3.5 stars. A consistent style gets you the 4 star. Two characters with an emotional interaction and feasible story gets you the rare 4.5 stars. Bravo.
Originality: Being on a few brony groups and seeing what passes a "popular" on deviant art (cough cough, porn, cough cough), it's refreshing to see a painting that comments on what the ponies as a fantasy culture could end up being. And despite the fact that I'm altogether tired of the fact that most artist portray the future as one where the ruling species completely kills nature, I gave you the 4.5 stars because the is a subject less explored in the fandom.
Technique: I'm afraid I'm going to have to low-ball you on this rating because the prospective is off on the balcony piece. Plus, I think your mechanical stallion is missing a leg. The light source on the main characters is unclear, the background is a devoid of activity, the lighting effects on the aircraft is questionable, the blue lights in the background aren't hazed believably, and I'm not a fan of the title. (Yes, I critique titles.)
Impact: The message this piece is sending is trite. Ever since the days of monopolies and robber barons, artist and naturalist have been beating back the "Man Overtaking Nature" theme. I know this was a commission, but since I don't have the details, I can't really see how restricted you were.
All and all, I always appreciate a complete piece of art. Keep it up!!!

Thanks for the critique, I value what people take the time to say. And I have to say... ahhh, you caught me red handed.
I have had trouble creating smooth and crisp lines and so this piece was tough for me so when it came to the details, I BS'd a lot of them. The leg isn't missing though but it could use a little more contrast I guess. As for limits, I didn't really have any which kind of made it somewhat difficult. I did this piece over many times because the request was to create an interesting background with the character as a prominent figure. Also, I don't know if you know any of the story behind the character but the idea is that he was a prominent pony in the land when an accident happened and had to be preserved or something like that. He awoke to a new futuristic world inside a mechanical body. So from there you can interpret the piece however, but to me it's a mix of ideas. I can understand the technique scoring as buildings, individual lighting, and perspective were all very challenging for me as I have very little practice with them.

I look at this and "Blade Runner" immediately comes to mind. The first thing I thought was: "I wonder if the bird is real or a replicant?"

Amazing stuff, like always! I really like background work and the futuristic looking bits, too. That's not something you see a lot in pony art, so it's a refreshing touch. But what do I know? Awesome stuff man.
