A lot of Avatar fans have a rather intense dislike of Maiko...in fact, I don't think I've seen another couple take so much heat! So, using my patented Booter Logic, I decided to delve into the reasons WHY(constant face sucking aside). However, my logic must have had an off day, judging from the grade it got. :/But ya gotta admit, guys who act like Mai DO get a love of love. Which is maybe why MAO is a good idea...[link]
Now, before you jump down my throat with Reasons Why Booter Is Wrong And Ignorant For Making This, let me just nip that in the bud. I am not promoting ANY sort of shipping, and this thing is a SPOOF. So if you're actually looking for a well-researched and thought out debate starter, look somewhere else.

I am actually becoming a Maiko shipper. The reason why I didn't like it in the beginning of the season is because there wasn't really... anything. There wasn't this buildup (other than the flashback in "Zuko Alone"), and it seemed kind of... blah. Sure, they kissed and whatever, but if I'm having more of a reaction to Azula kissing a boy, then there's problems.
However, episode 9 finally had some sort of emotion to it. Mai generally cares about Zuko, and it showed.
So Maiko throws my shipping preference into a loop. I don't want Katara with Aang, but I like Maiko... *ish confused*
I'm just gonna watch the show instead.

In the Avatar exclusive magazine, there's an article in there where the creators have stated that Katara will end up with either Aang or Zuko.
So by that logic, if Mai and Zuko stay together, then Zuko is out of the equation, and Katara will be with Aang.
I don't like Aang/Katara, so if that doesn't happen, then it will be Zuko/Katara, which destroys the Zuko/Mai ship.

I like Mai's character. It kind of sucks that fans hate girls with depth, but love guys with it. It's really kind of sexist if you think about it. They want classic gender roles -sigh- and Mary Sues. *cough* This might be why so many people like Katara *cough*
I'm indifferent about the Maiko pairing. At least it's canon -shrugs- I don't really like Zuko with any of the other girls anyways
