The night had fallen and the pups were now sleeping in the shallow den he and Maple had dug into a small hill. Alduin sat outside the den and sighed. He was worried about his mother, Livia. She was pregnant again and he left her. Yes, it was for the safety of his pups and mate, but he still felt guilty. Maple walked out of the den.
"Come to the den Al, it's late."
"I will...in a few more minutes."
Maple sat next to him and nuzzled his cheek.
"I know your worried about your mother, but she's a strong she-wolf. she can take care of herself. Besides, she's got your dad, Smoke, Laticus, Zelda, Antarctica, and Sting, she'll be fine. Now, come get some rest."
Alduin smiled and followed his mate into their newfound home. The fire had scared him, but it had also made him stronger.
