After the birth, both Alduin and Maple were exhausted. Panting, Maple looked down at her hard work. Six pups wriggled and whimpered at her belly.
"There's five girls and one boy." Alduin said. "I checked. You did a great job, my love."
"Six." Maple sighed. It would explain why she felt so exhausted.
A seal female wriggled away from her littermates, following her nose towards Alduin. Maple laughed.
"Looks like we have a daddy's girl." She smiled.
Al leaned down to the pups' level and felt a tear slide down his cheek as they touched noses.
"Are you okay, Al?" Maple asked her mate.
"She's so precious. So gorgeous. Just like her mother." Alduin nudged his daughter carefully back to her siblings.
"They are all so beautiful." Al added.
"And their names?" Maple asked.
"How about you name the girls and I'll name the boy." Alduin suggested.
"Okay." Maple agreed.
She named them in order of how they were positioned while suckling.
"Lynne, Raina, Vivanne, Remedy, and Dracona."
The male pup had fallen asleep while cuddling with Alduin and Al supported his head with his paw.
"And this is Mace." Al said.
