Description
Long overdue, but I finally managed to make some kind of sheet for Featherfall! I have one for Ruby Cube also that I finished in the same day that I'll upload eventually. I wanted to get them out once the comic goes on a small break so that I can stock up on new pages to upload. There will be a handful of side content in this period, such as reference sheets, little stories, and general information sheets about parts of the world and comic, as well as more world-building like with the alicorns! I've got some plans regarding the Draconequi as well. c:This won't be any super-detailed reference sheet, it'll mostly just be a summary of his character and story like the ones for Windstrike and Cipher Rune. I'll link those at the bottom in case you're curious. There's also a "characters" subfolder in my Beyond our Borders gallery folder where you can find them
----------------
Featherfall is a young buckskin mustang stallion who is part of the Hitchocki tribe. He lives there with his little sister Liliac and his grandmother Magnolia, who is also the village's medicine mare.
Featherfall is a very adventurous, brave and determined spirit who has a pure heart and a genuine want to preserve everyone's well-being, but at times he can be painfully naive and disobedient in order to reach those goals, causing him to not be very well ranked in the tribe. He's generally socially awkward as well and doesn't feel like he can truly fit in and connect with his tribe members. He isn't necessarily introverted normally, he is a very cheerful and fun-loving guy, he just doesn't quite know how to talk to people. He's not very skilled with friendships and interactions and often does tasks on his own without having to cooperate. He insists on handling things on his own, which can lead to both good and bad results. He can also be a bit clumsy, forgetting things and being easily distracted, but he pushes through it the best he can and will always try to make his mistakes right.
His father was not a popular stallion in the tribe, as well as his mother, with both often getting in qualms with the chief and was not afraid to speak up against those they disagreed with. Featherfall has adopted a lot of that from his parents, making him not very popular among the elders, but well-respected and looked up to by the young and adventurous foals. Featherfall pushes the limits of what to do and what not to do, really pushing the buttons of the other tribe members. But to their dismay, they have to keep him around since he is a valuable member of their tribe, being one of the fastest sprinters and one of the strongest hunters they have. He also handles the village's messaging, taking care of their falcons that send messages between the villages.
His best friend Jesterock, also known as Teal, is the younger brother of the future chief's son Bristleclaw, also known as Cobalt. Teal and Cobalt both respect and love eachother as brothers, however Cobalt and Featherfall continues to get one eachother's nerves. Cobalt's rude and "I'm-better-than-you-because-I'm-the-future-chief" attitude is the true epitamy of someone Falls DOESN'T like. The quarrells between his parents and the chief are definitely mirrored in him and Cobalt... luckily, Teal's there to help mediate things with his calm and gentle attitude.
His mother and father have unfortunately passed, but unlike Liliac who never properly met either parent since their mom died giving birth to her and their father disappeared long before that, Featherfall does have some memories of his father. But he remembers very little about him, since he was only a couple years old when he disappeared, and when he asks about him the other tribe members are very distant and doesn't like talking about him. They only told him he was exiled out of the tribe because of something he did to disobey the tribes rules and most likely died to the desert heat or other creatures roaming the plains.
Fortunately, both siblings were taken care of by their grandmother Magnolia, who has raised them until the age they are now. Liliac is training to become a medicine mare like her grandmother, and Featherfall works on gaining the respect he deserves from the tribe, hoping to be able to prove himself as a worthy member by finding out a way to help their tribe thrive.
The Hitchocki are the biggest Native-Equestrian tribe left standing and lives south of Equestria down in the Bone Dry Desert mountains. The tribe itself is split into six villages, with Featherfall being part of the Runners.
However, the tribe has always been pushed to its limit because of the northern Equestrians wanting to expand their borders over the Hitchocki lands and wanting to mine up their mountains for their precious gemstones, forcing the tribe to retreat towards the mountains. The tribe is growing anxious and angry, wanting to respond with violence and fight back, hoping to reclaim their land and preserve their home from those who want to mine their mountains and claim their land, further raising the tensions between the two sides. Featherfall, one of the lesser ranked Hitchockis, wants things to change.
Featherfall doesn't have the power to make things change, but he knows there's something or someone out there who can help. Ever since he was little he's felt something call for him, something beyond his tribe's borders that urges him to explore further, despite not being allowed to leave his lands. He doesn't want things to have to result in violence and is willing to do everything in his power to seek help elsewhere from somepony who can help. There has to be some way to convince these mining companies and northerners not to do this, since it's putting so many lives in danger. What is it that they truly want, other than the gems from their mountains and their lands to expand on? Nopony would do these things if there wasn't an alterior goal in mind that would cancel out the consequences. Gran Magnolia says it's greed... ponies blinded by valuables. But maybe there's more to it. He's heard things about a princess of friendship living up north... maybe she can help calm this quarrell?
But to reach this princess, or someone else who can help, he has to breach the biggest rule the Hitchocki has... he has to pass beyond their borders and travel up north into the foreign land of Equestria, and the land of the enemy. To Featherfall, however, not everypony has to be an enemy. Right?
So far, Gran Magnolia is the only other Hitchocki who is aware of Featherfall's travels, and while she continuously eggs him on to be extremely careful and perceptive, she also wants him to find his calling. He's almost been caught before, but she helps cover up for him. She believes in him, and she believes that the answer he's looking for is out there. Magnolia has had contact with many ponies outside their borders who she calls her pen-pals, including northerners. She knows there are good ponies out there too, but she's too old to find them herself... someone young, brave and determined like her grandson takes her place instead.
But what Featherfall would eventually find out there wasn't quite what he had been searching for.

Obviously, his story will continue in the comic. If you haven't read it yet, I encourage you to do so! I'm a little over half-way through chapter 1, and he's already been on quite a travel.
As I said at the top, here's some extra links in case you're curious about the other characters and concepts for this AU and story.
