Some well needed shading practice on my part. I always feels like my style of shading sometimes goes too dark and soft, and I want to try and work around that to make it look more natural and realistic. But then there's a part of me that wants hard CEL-shading and make it look cartoony and I want to throw myself out a window
I think I did fairly well with this, I'm happy with the nighttime, fireplace and the leaf lighting. They look okay, but I'm unsure about the sunlight and overcast. I feel like I could have worked more on those, since the Sunlight is a bit too bright and the overcast shadows are a little too saturated. But that's what practice is for!
This first practice sheet helped me realize what I need to focus on, so in the future I'll try to spend a little extra time on lighting and shading to make them fit more with the environment around the character without making said character become one with the background.
I'm also going to try and paint my backgrounds more! Without lineart and stuff. I think it would fit pretty well with my style. :>

(This was also the first time I attempted lighting through leaves and I never realized how easy it was to do, holy shit)
