Yay for irish lore! Once again I really like the outfits. The second place to look for character, besides the face of course LOL

Victor? Is this something that you've created yourself or something like that? Sorry my curiousity (*cough*nosey-ness!*cough*) but they do look amazing that I just wondered if you created them yourself

Like I think someone said the colours are lovely and vibrant which I think is really important as it hols my attention -makes me want to look at them all day and marvel.

The first lady -aye! The bright beautiful colours! The dress says 'butterfly' but the headress says 'mushroom!' But she gives off the air of a very important person (thing) who is either wise (the crystal ball perhaps) or a bit of a bitch -the slight smile -is it a smirk!? Not sure

Second dude -I wanna say: old working class man -maybe like a miner or something equal to that occupation. But the windmill-like-fan alludes me. But I love his bushy angry eyebrows.

Third dude -looks like a bit of a wiseguy (its the hat) with crazy flexibility. Again, lovin' the eyebrows

Fourth dude -now this looks like a very loud and fun character -I just seem to imagine this loud booming laugh accompanied by a hearty thump on your back. He seems like a really nice friendly character and again, someone of importance. I like the sublte use of pink on his cheeks -has he been laughing too hard, or drinking a little too much?

Fifth dude - for some reason he screams villian -though I dont think he's the kinda villian I'm used to. Perhaps more of a Gaston (Beauty and Beast ref) type character -though with more class and less loudness. Although the vanity and ego seem to be present -must be the perfect hair and goatee. Will I sound to imature if I squeeal enthusiastically over that *gorgeous* deer?

Wow that was longer than I had expected... Woopsies

Ya know, I hadn't realized that I'd just posted these without explaining anything about my Victor project. Basically these are all character concepts for a children's book I hope to develop. The main character, Victor, is a novelist who travels the world seeking out mythic creatures and people, and then he learns about their legends, myths and stories. What bedtime stories does a Yeti tell it's children? What anecdotes would Death share when he's entertaining company? Things like that. So yeah, that's the basic idea. They're all original takes on myths and legends, so I don't use pictoral reference for them at all, just written description and remembered attributes.

The first lady is a Faerie Monarch (which is why I went for the primarily butterfly motif).

The second dude is The Grey Man from an Irish warning to travelers. "Sailors beware the Grey Man". When unhappy he causes squalls at sea and pulls men into the rough waves. He is one of "The Four Men" in the warning and, as such, is something of a prince of Faerie.

The third dude is the Fir Darrig. He is a relative of Leprechauns, but with a penchant for red clothing (his name means "Red Man"). He is a house faerie and a mischief maker, but if he likes the family in the home he occupies he will fiercely defend them from percieved dangers before going back to drinking their beer and spilling their cream.

The fourth dude is The Red-Haired Man from the Irish warning to travelers. "Be thankful for the Red-Haired Man." He's something of a human's advocate to Faeries. He just plain likes humanity, and goes out of his way to be helpfull when he comes across people in need.

The fifth dude might seem villainous, and his work is not kind work. He is the Dark Man of the Irish warning to travelers. "Avoid the Dark Man." He is an enforcer for the Faerie nobility. When a Queen of Faerie needs someone abducted they send the Dark Man. If a human person brags of being to the Faerie Court or having Faerie Sight, the Dark Man may visit them to strike them blind or cripple their limbs. Still, he is a member of the Faerie High Court and has a rich life outside of his court duties.

Wow - that sounds like such a cool book! At what age would you target audience be, do you think?

Yeah I did think it was kinda strange that you just put up characters without explaining them, but then I've seen a few other artists doing the same thing so whatever works. But I think you should put what you put just now in the summary box thingy -not a lot of people read all the comments before adding comments -so I sometimes find -though many not be the case all the time.

I like the sound of the Fir Darrig, he sounds cool in a cheeky kinda way Although I probably wouldnt want him living in my house and spilling all my cream (or milk or whatever is today's equivilant) I wouldnt mind that extra protection

they're so different and beautiful, the colors and everything are just fantastic. the lady on the upper left looks stunning, and reminds me of those characters from fern gulley. or something like that.

Man.. Your cartooning is GREAT. Character design is quite unique. Actually, quite Disney. Not a bad thing as far as I'm concerned. Nice.
