Description
Since I get repeatedly asked about how I make pony sprites, I created this simple step-by-step tutorial for making a basic trotting sprite.
This is the first time I made a tutorial and I may not be very good at explaining things, but I still hope that you will find this useful.
Edit: The forum which contains the templates (as mentioned in this tutorial) is currently down. Please try this link instead: www.mediafire.com/file/le2j2ig…

Gimp supports layers, so it should be possible, but since I don't use it myself, I can't really help you with that. Try searching for Gimp tutorials or something.

Its cool to see how someone else does it. Your method is a bit more streamlined than mine so no wonder you can crank them out muuuuuuuuch faster than I can : p
Seems mine are a bit different though due to mine having the hair bob at slightly different points and with more inbetweens. I guess I just like my hair excessively bouncy >.>

Well, there's nothing wrong with excessively bouncy manes.
Yeah, there are probably a lot of different ways to make those sprites. This is just the method that works best for me.
