boum — Seeking for the Snitch

That IS the Snitch, right? I'm so not a Harry Potter fan that I don't even remember how it's called in French---while I read the four first books in the French version. Oh well, it doesn't matter, anyway.
I did this for ~yamiza as an art trade. She wanted me to either draw Harry or Draco. I first wanted to draw them both, but I didn't have any inspiration, plus... I'm always having trouble drawing Malfoy, so I didn't risk screwing him up.
I then wanted to draw Harry casting a spell of sorts, but except "Lumos", I can't remember any of the darn spells... and drawing a kid using magic to light up the place wasn't all that appealing...So I went with a more traditional, oh-so cliched theme: Harry playing Quidditch. I was willing to practice foreshortening a bit, so here. The arm and hands look great, if I do say so myself, but... I screwed up his body. Doesn't he look like he's one foot and a half tall?
But I do like the colouring, even if the .jpg compression absolutely killed the colours. I hate Photoshop and its unusually boosted and saturated colours. Damnit.
I was supposed to draw blurry people in the background too, but I got lazy.

Hi! Mike from here. This is nice, you've done the shading very well. But his eyes kinda scare me. Hehe. *Ponders about how you created the Snitch's wings effect*

Yeah, I do admit his eyes are scary.
The Snitch's wings were relatively easy to do. I first drew a wavy white line on each side of it, on a seperate layer. Then I played with the motion blur filter and duplicated the layer until I got the effect I wanted... and lastly, I took the paintbrush and added some tiny zigzags here and there.

Oh this one is good too Boum!! I think you did a fine job on the foreshortening for both the arm/hand and body. Great cell coloring job too. Plus, I like it without the blurry background people.

J'aime beaucoup son visage: tu as vraiment trouvé ton style, et ça paraît! Tu as l'air confortable avec, et je peux le remarquer dans tes dessins récents (et produits à une vitesse hallucinante!).
Oh, et j'adore HP, mais je dois dire que j'ai moi aussi oublié le nom du...err.....machin d'or. Par contre, je me rapelle de plusieurs sorts...j'ai un petit côté Hermione. 
Va falloir que je regarde dans le livre pour le nom du...truc d'or, je pourrai pas dormir, moi! Ta faute!
