Description Hello, Leedey tornado! Is that not the most incredible and photogenic tornado you've ever seen?! God, I love this photo. But it pales in comparison to the next one I have to post.

It still blows my mind that only about 2hrs after this storm began building it dropped a tornado.

Check out the video footage of the storm! Leedey, OK Tornado May 19, 2010

Taken approx. 3:30PM

Some post processing done in Photoshop to bring out the edges of the clouds.

Breathtaking and terrifyingly beautiful!!! I LOVE all the contrast going on!!!
The green fields and the peek of blue sky give you such a feeling of peace and then BAM, that big bad boy! It gives it a feeling of 'out of the blue'.
I've seen a LOT of funnel pictures, but so far, THIS has to be my favorite! Wonderful job! Truly amazing!
Your one of the few people that will actually get a wow from me.
I look forward to seeing more of your work!

It became a tornado later, as far as it's progression in the picture I see nothing but a funnel. However, I am aware of the video and I watched it.
I've browsed through your whole gallery already and it compelled me enough to click the 'watch' button. I've seen what you captured of it and I obviously like your work, just for some reason this photo stood out among the rest... so I felt the urge to comment on it telling you how wonderful I thought it was. Also, to encourage you to keep up the good work because I'm looking forward to future additions to your gallery.

It's not just a funnel, it's a tornado. Or at least the progression to a tornado. The video and follow up photos do it more justice than just this photo alone.

That one was actually fun to watch. Not very scary even tho we were quite close to it. But it was a very picturesque tornado.

That is sooo awesome! I love hearing from people like you. I highly suggest giving storm chasing a shot. I also suggest going with people who know what they're doing. The College of DuPage offers a storm chasing course. Its basically a 10 day field study trip that takes you wherever the storms are. That's what I've been doing the past two years. It's an amazing program, so if you're interested in giving it a shot, I highly recommend COD. That and they're waaaay cheaper than chase tours. You also learn a lot of stuff too.

that is freaking awesome! I did not know that they did such a thing for that. I am stoked. I will have to look into that for sure!!!

Go for it! I made the decision to do it last year, and I have been hooked ever since!

it is kind of pricey, but I am sure it is worth it!

If you take a look at those chase tours, it's about $3200 for 6 days and close to $6000 for 10 days. 10 days is the length of one of our trips and it only costs $1300. And the only thing you pay for yourself is food. I spent less than $200 on food this year. And that ain't bad! All the hotels we stay at provide breakfast, so all you're paying for is lunch and dinner, and maybe some snacks if you get hungry on the road. Still, dirt cheap imo.
