Description
I told ya we saw Sean Casey again! This time, it was with TIV 2! Oh, the excitement! I swear, I was definitely NOT expecting to run into him or Reed at all this year, but the weather gods smiled upon me. Maybe next year I might actually get to talk to one of them. Hell, maybe I'll go out by myself this year for a weekend and run into them. Who knows. The spring is still young and there's a lot of time left in the season.Day 8

Man, I wish they'd come here in Northeast Arkansas! I saw the one where they went through the Ozarks, but we've yet to have one here. Definitely faving this, cause I love Storm Chasers.

Not really... A lot of the time is spent sitting around and chasing ghosts. Out of the 10 days we were out, we only got lucky one. We ran into the TIV several times, and most of them nothing happened. Either the storm didn't produce or it died out. But it was still pretty damn cool to chase with them. We also ran into Reed Timmer and his new vehicle, the SRV (Storm Research Vehicle). I have video footage of that, no photos tho. Hopefully next time.

Ah I see, sucks to be the owner of the TIV sucks up ALOT of gas lol small tank, but still cool, I haven't seen the TIV in Texas, there was a Tornado in Cedar Park, TX about 40 or 50 miles away from my home.

Cedar Park? Where's that? Sorry, I'm REALLY curious, lol. I love storm chasing, and I'm hoping to do some more this weekend, but the darn forecast keeps changing and getting pushed back. First Sunday, then Monday, and now Tuesday. It's ANNOYING! And to top things off, there were some great things happening south of Chicago this afternoon, but unlucky me had to work till 4.
The TIV, I tell ya... Seeing it is an experience! And I didn't just see TIV 2, I also saw TIV 1. Now that was way beyond cool, lol. I feel bad for Sean, tho. He's always got problems with the both of them! And its not just gas. When we passed them the last time (in this photo), they were stuck on the side of the road doing more repairs.

Cedar Park is in Texas heading North of Austin Texas, didn't demolish the whole town but did enough damage, it was long time ago, and I remember back in the 90's there was a place named Jarrell, TX about 20 miles away from me in Killeen TX had a GIANT well...to me it was tornado who wiped out the town. And back when I was in High School there was a small tornado that cut through my school and near my house, taking down power lines.
I think they should do a rent-a-tank lol. A home made TIV is unreliable unless he knew what to do. I saw the discovery channel on TIV 1, had a broken axle or w/e

Ah, I see. Last year I had a run in with two crazy systems. The first was in southern Wisconsin just outside Madison. That was actually a pretty cool one cuz I watched it approach. We had just stopped for lunch before heading farther northwest towards the Minnesota border, and it came up so fast! But we drove right through it. Hell of a lot of rain and lots of cloud to ground lightening. It was loud and heavy and freaked out my aunt, but I was having an awesome time. Hehe. The second was in August. I was at a Cubs game at Wrigley and this huge derecho headed straight for us. That was definitely the coolest storm ever. I quit watching the game just to watch the storm approach cuz we were in the perfect position to see the whole thing unravel. And with the sun setting, it made it that much more dramatic. I'm so pissed I didn't bring a camera with me! LOL. We ended up getting stuck in a bar that night. But all was cool.
Haha, rent-a-tank! That would be hilarious. Altho maybe it would be cool to see an actual tank barrel through a tornado. Haha! Now that's an image that won't be leaving my head anytime soon. But I do truly think Sean knows what he's doing. He built both those things himself and he pretty much fixes them himself as well. I just wanna see what happens this season on Storm Chasers. It's been so QUIET! It's like are they even gonna be able to catch anything this year? I hope so, otherwise it'll just be the Reed Timmer show. LoL.

My dad told me once when he was a kid living in Iowa working on a farm milking a cow, he saw his neighbors barn get taken down by a Tornado lol.
Well I like storm chasing I just don't like the thought of being near one lol. I remember last season TIV1 did a IMAX footage lol.

Wow. My aunt used to live in Oklahoma, and she's been through several. She keeps telling me this story about the time she and my cousin had to run across the street as a tornado approached their house so they could use their neighbor's storm shelter. Scary stuff, but that doesn't deter me in the least. That's probably why I love watching Storm Chasers so much. I've watched both seasons and have them on DVD. Yeah, super nerd! I'm also headed back to school to study meteorology this fall, but first I need to take a few math classes cuz I've always sucked at it! LOL.

That would be rather cool! Hehe. I have a BA in graphic design, so maybe I'll design some cool graphics to market it. On top of the already cool vehicle design I'm working on... I should really put that into PS/Illustrator and start getting a better idea of the actual look other than fumbling around. I'm such a procrastinator. In my defense, I'm watching the radar waiting for SOMETHING to pop up around here so I can chase.

lol, sounds like a team right there. The designer, the person who makes it and then sells it lol.
I had a friend from california who moved here to texas in my home town, and didn't know he lived in a tornado alley lol.
