Description
Another gorgeous shot from the Bowdle, SD storm. This thing was the definition of a monster. 6000 J/KG of CAPE (convective available potential energy) eroded the CAP (convective inhibition, also known as CIN or CINH) and produced this baby. That's a LOT of energy to be sucked up by the atmosphere. If you want a better meteorology lesson, check out the SPC website at www.spc.noaa.gov.
