What do you think of the colors? How do you like the field of depth - too small or too big? Do you like the cropping? Any other thoughts?

Yea i can just imagin a alian bursting out eager to cling on to your face ....

cool close up, interesting subject, we find interest in the funniest things sometimes
could have done with a little more light to pick out more detail in the skin but that's about it....

I think it's a great photo! As others have said, a contrast/saturation boost might be interesting, but the brown spots might go a bit wierd thinking about it... Also, I LOVE the depth of field! It makes it look kind of like an alien landscape (or something ¬_¬

I think you've did an excellent job with this picture. It does look like something from Alien (the pods that the face huggers come out of.) But I really like that. The way you've cropped the image is what makes it look like something totally different.

Great job.

The colors look nice, but seem kind of dull. I think if you were to up the contrast some, they would really pop. The focus is great and really sharp! Slightly eerie picture.

Wow, now this is superb
I really enjoy looking at it
Yeah, it does kinda looks Sci-Fi ...
To be more specific, a looks like an opened alien egg ^^
The colors are great, the lighting the same.
I love especially on the second "leaf" from the right, on the edge, that small bunch of fibers, that could be some dust, fibers from a pillow, bed, etc. ... or some moss (?).
Can't tell ... but it seems very appropriate for the whole "Alien" scene
Also the discoloration, the decompozition on the edges of the "leafs" ...
Overall, my oppinion is 10.5 +

Actually, the "fibers" is spider-web a little spider actually lived inside the "egg" (I found out when I was about to eat the pomegranate )

yea, for sure it looks like a spaceship from an alien film xP
I really like the colors, maybe the lighting is too white, I would say, and the depth is a bit too big, but as a whole, I like the pic. It has something in it, something that brings attention.
Greetings (:

The field of depth and focus is great!
The top left background however, is overwhelming compared to the greeny yellow, so I would agree with the others with the whole saturation deal.

I like the subject and the depth of field is really great, however the colors seem a little washed out and dull. maybe try upping the contrast or some of the color levels?

I think the colors are all rusty and yet still slightly colorful, giving it a nice feel of... metal? I like that. And the zoom is perfect; and I like it how it's on the side like that, and not in the middle, so that it gives you a look of the other parts of the pomegranite.

Wow, to start off, great capture, just excellent.

Now about that feedback yes, um. Well, the first thought that comes to my mind is "wow, that looks like something from an alien movie lol" (like you said), then my thoughts are, "so what's the point of this again?"

When people take photos, (at least I think), they try to express something, whether its the beauty, or power, or a hidden meaning perhaps for the viewer to infer from. This to me just doesn't "express" anything too profound, if you know what I mean.

The shot itself is actually very skillfully done, and I can tell you put a lot of work in this. I think it would overall look better if it had a bit higher contrast. When it comes to cropping, I think it would enjoy a bit more leeway with the top side, because the spikes seem a bit... suffocated (I'm being a bit dramatic sorry lol).

I hope that can help you, not sure what else you're looking for, because it's a very nice shot to begin with. If you got questions, feel free to ask.

I love this, as you can see from the The fruit does look other worldly but at the same time looks organic and reminds me for some reason of skin.... The crop is good with the off centered and I like the focus on the fruit center...thing. I have never seen a pomegranate in real life and now I suspect I would be disappointed at it's plainness in comparison.

Actually, this is a neat shot. I wouldn't think something so simple such as the top of a fruit to look so interesting close-up.
Though, I think it would have helped if the lighting was brighter, it would have contrasted the colors better.

Really unique picture! The pinks and greens go great together, and the close up really gives it a nice abstract feel. If there was a more defined light source and the colors were a bit more vivid this shot would be amazing. And try not to cut off the top part of the pomegranate.

Hello! ^^

This really is a cool shot in all respects. I do have a few suggestions, though.

I think that while the focus is great that the object needs to be a bit further away from the lense. The reason for this is because the picture looks a bit cut-off and awkared. However, the way that you blurred out the focus really works well.

The lighting could use a bit of work. I can see that it's artifical light, and while the shiny-ness of it is great, I think a softer, yellower light would do this more justice.

The one last thing I would suggest is playing around with the saturation. The colors look a bit dull and if you tested with some of the hues or different lenses, depending on your camera, you can create and even fuller and dynamic effect.

Still, this is totally awesome. <3 Great job!

Thank you so much for your advices - I think I'll redo the picture some day, then maybe I'll take the whole thing outside to some natural light (the only light I have for now is my kitchen lamp ). And some playing around with the saturation afterwards maybe

Very nice detail , I like the focus on the corner and how everything starts to get blurrier and blurrier as it is further away. So the depth of the picture is good I'd say. I think the cropping is nice and the colors are even nicer. Nice shot

To me, the depth is very nice and can't think of what could look better. The cropping is nice too, and makes my focus roam between the center and the pomegrenate top ^^.

I think it's a very interesting shot! I very much love the colors, and I like the focus.
For my taste however, I would like to see more contrast in the colors; although I agree that the colors look very smooth here, I think if it was a tad brighter it would pop-out more.

Overall, nice cropping, the composition looks great, and the focus is perfect.
Keep it up! (:

Well I don't know much about photography but I like the focus, I think this is a great shot and very interesting. For post-processing in like photoshop or something I guess you could make the photo more bright to make it more eye catching and sharpen it to highlight the edges. Also make the colours contrast more

This is spectacular! The mixture of red and green was made to be photographed! It is so pretty to see how colors blend and transform in nature. In your photograph you can really see the different shades that come between the red and the green. This pomegranate is very interesting because you do not recognize it right away.

For the future, maybe do one of those deviations where it is one deviation with 3 different pictures in it or something. It would be really neat to see the different angles of it next to each other (though they would be successful as separate deviations) You could also do another series where you zoom out more so we can see more of the fruit.

Such a beautiful photo. I feel the need to go but one and take pictures now
