What bothers me about this image is that the upper right isn't covered by the fruit. I don't know why but I tend to stare at that little dark triangle.
The DOF is just fine!

Very cool shot. It definitely does look alien at this scale - almost like an extra-terrestrial egg from which - at any time - a slimy creature may emerge from... Great shot!

red and green together always nice to define each other,
i think; it doesnt need any more brightness cos it wouldnt suit with the texture, its very good like this.
also good angle to catch, it directly pulls me into the pomegranates half-open top.

This picture, it has a certain presence, I'm not sure how to describe it. The sharpness and colors are a definite plus for sure. It is cropped quite nicely, I don't think I would change it. Overall, a great picture, actually a stunningly great picture.

This picture has a certain air about it... the colors are almost entrancing with the irregular blend. As for the size, i think that a little less of the top and more of the body of the fruit would improve the balance- right now it seems a little side-heavy. Aside from that, though, great picture!

I really like this, the fleshy colours against the plantish ones make for an awesome contrast and indeed make it look very alien. I love the field of depth and cropping, makes it seem mysterious.

I love the colors and their transition. I'm a fan of offcentering, but with a close up like this the dark upper right hand corner takes a little away from the photograph.

Wow, such an interesting image! I admit I had no idea what it was at first XD but it's really cool. I think if instead of focusing on the back "petals" and instead on the front it would make it more pleasing to look at. I think the way you've set the image up is really effective, though. It makes it really pleasing to the eye.
