Description
Another snow flake. I used a different approach here - using a black piece of cloth, I tried to capture some of the larger snow crystals a bit more on their own, instead of in a big pile. I think it turned out nice, but still, it was hardWhat do you think of it?

Hello, nice, nice work. I love the snow, I am trying always to see if I can see the cristal formation but I have never seen it, I always look at tiny snowflakes and I cannot see an actual form like in this picture.
Yes, I should try harder, but I need more snow and I have not so much here in Mexico...
See you

I just finished shooting some freshly-fallen snowflakes in the central USA and now can appreciate how hard this is to do.
Depth of field is particularly tricky in macro, and, as in this shot, sometimes though the focus isn't exactly on the snowflake the image still turns out beautiful.
Really nice use of framing, with the focus on the left leading the eye over to the snowflake! And if it's cropped, nice choice of cropping!

thank you very much, and yes, it is cropped - even though I don't usually do that

Looks like a piece of silver jewelery! Amazing detail.
Personally, softening the detail of the cloth in the same focus plane as the flake would keep the focus on the flake - my eye tends to jump between the two. But great image anyway!

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen this much detail in a snowflake. Great job!
