Great stuff! 20 minutes... incredible..
I'm dying to know... do you use a Cintiq?
Any other clues to your method? Special brushes?

Thanks!
No i use a Wacom4, and not really any method or to elebrate brushes. With only 20mins you dont have to time to fuss with alot of brushes so i stick to a few traditional style brushes that carry a bit of texture.

wow.. then even more impressive! i work on a wacom too, and i've adapted to a degree, but still crave a Cintiq because I'd like to be looking at where i'm drawing..

This is amazing. I really like this kind of thing. They seem to have such an airy mood to them, mornings must be a good thing ^^

Some really great backdrops here! A lot of detail in some of them, even if it's more implied than than focused. Have you ever done concept art like this for movies or such?

Well, good to know that someone's putting your talents to use, at least.

Beautiful pieces- particularly like the 2nd 3rd and 4th on the right.
Im interested to know how you approach your warm up paintings, do you have an idea in mind on your way to work? Pick some photo reference etc? Or just start blank and see what happens. The first half hour of work for me is a nightmare-nothing happens until ive had at least 2 coffees

Thanks for the kind words Ben!
I literally start when i get to work and fire up my machine, then treat myself to a cuppa!
I have zero approach, in that im usually thinking of the concept tasks i have for the day ahead, so my mind is blank to what i want to paint. I stay away from ref for these as i simply would loose interest in it if i had to find ref imagery. Slap down some shapes, or draw some lines and see what it looks like it could turn into.
And i paint with these guys [link] [link] so we offer a little feedback after with our cups of tea/coffee.

Awesome stuff! The fourth image down on the left looks like it came straight out of Star Wars.
