Description
Here is a little tutorial explaining my digital coloring technique in the program Clip Studio Paint. Some of this could theoretically be carried over to other digital art programs that feature layers and layer blending modes (e.g. Photoshop), though of course all software is different.Normally, I use two layers for my highlights (one with an Overlay blending mode for duller highlights and another with a Hard Light blending mode for brighter ones) and one layer with a Multiply blending mode for my shading. All three layers are then clipped to the layer (or, more commonly, a whole folder of layers) containing the base colors using the key combo Ctrl + Alt + G. Hopefully this may be of use to aspiring digital artists out there!
