FULL VIEW IS LARGE! VIEW AT DISCRETION!12 Steps to making an Iridescent Orb. Credits given to *Senaru for giving me the idea to make one. This however, is in no way a rip of her tutorial.
*Senaru's Iridescent Tutorial
This is my first tutorial and I still have the PSD file saved. If anyone finds any grammatical errors or spelling errors... please inform me so I may fix it.
Comments are well appreciated.
I used this orb in Book Of Iridescence which is for anyone's use under agreement written there.

Oh, this looks awesome. I never thought about using that light effect on iridescence, I'm looking forward to trying it. :}
Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial with the world!

It's extremely difficult to replicate real life iridescence but I felt this came close for a replicated effect mainly because of the lighting. If you happen to create something with it, please show me, I'd love to see it

We must verify that your layer is not locked. First thing is that. Please check your layer. Does it have a little lock icon? If so, look on the layer window for a matching lock button and click it so that the icon disappears. If this does not solve your problem...
We must also check if the elliptical selection tool is indeed the elliptical selection tool. All the selection tools are on the top of the tools tray. If this does not solve your problem...
Make sure your layer is selected. No invisibility and whatnot. If this does not solve your problem...
Please send me a screenshot of you attempting to make this orb. I will consider all option you have on and I will surely be able to help you.

It's only easy because I explained it. ^_^ I was searching around and tutorials just weren't helpful. They didn't explain why or how or anything. Senaru really gave me the inspiration to do this because she was so good at explaining without it being overabused and lengthy (like mine XD)

^_^ Thanks so much! Your comment was greatly appreciated! (Especially since you inspired this one).
x.x You wouldn't believe how much research had to go into this one. (Mainly learning what iridescence was). Explaining why polar coordinates work also took a long search through my trig book. Oh, the horror.

oh indeed. a GOOD ref for Ira' are black-feathered birds and humingbirds. peacocks too :3
Magpies = PERFECT ira' color. I have feathers here to look at for refs on how light works and such. parrot feathers too, if you can get a hold of them. theres so many things people overlook when applying iradescents. x3~

XD I want a contact juggle sphere that looks like that. It'd probably be an acryllic.
