This one pretty much explains itself...~Autumnchild wanted to know how I do gems so I made a simple tutorial *^_^*
I hope that you will like it, sweetie!
The layout is a sneak peak on how my Coloured Pencil Tutorial will look like
Just a litte more purple and less blue...Still!
Feel free to ask questions if you have any, otherwise I think that the tutorial explains most of what is needed

I don't have photoshop. Would this work on Sai or Gimp?

SAI doesn't have the same tools (the Dodge Tool, in this case) so I would have to say no. I'm unfamiliar with Gimp so I can't answer that, I'm afraid.

There might be ways to get a similar effect if you do the base and shading on one layer and add the highlights on a second layer on top, set to the mode "Luminosity". But that's the best I can offer, I'm afraid, since I don't use SAI all that much and haven't learned all the tricks.
