Description
EDIT (29/12-2011): This butt ugly tutorial has recevied a much needed face lift now that I have an English version of Photoshop (which is much better than the previous Swedish one I had, since that forced me to translate everything) as well as some updates.I have now included some more facts about brush settings as well as a simple tip on how to colour your line art.
I hope that the changes will be to your liking! ^_^
And I want to thank you *shideh for proof reading!

Is this how you always do your lineart? I know there are many ways to do it, but I was wondering if this is what you consistently use. Thanks for the tutorial

No, I don't use this method at all anymore. It's been years since I stopped since I prefer to use a regular brush and do everything by hand the few times I do use line arts nowadays.
But it's a good way for those without a tablet etc so I kept the tutorial

Thanks for this . It's a very clear and understandable tutorial. I'm practising line art in PS, so far it didn't really work out. I didn't understand the pen tool that well. You explained very well how to use it.

Not to long ago I found out that, if you click on the Pen Tool again, the next point will be part of a new path and you'll still have the old one separated If you use "Stroke" option, it'll stroke all the paths existing at the time. If you have 2 different shapes (Like a star-like shape inside a circle) selected and use "Fill", it'll fill the space between both shapes only
That's how I did the diamond-like shapes on the dress in this pic [link]
Hope that helps

That's really fascinating
But since I'm not planning to redo the tutorial another time I'm not sure if I will use it And I don't use the Pen Tool myself anymore...
But it's certainly good to know

Lienwyn In reply to pottymouthgrl [2011-12-23 11:04:14 +0000 UTC]
As far as I know you should be able to find it in some of the oldest versions of Photoshop - like Photoshop 7.0 - but not in any of the Photoshop Elements programs.
Sadly enough I can't really offer any help on this matter
