Here is my submission for the FakeManiacs fakemaniacs.deviantart.com/ Mega Evolution ContestName: Mega Nidoking
Species: Bone Sword Pokemon
Type: Poison / Ground
Abilities: Poison Point / Battle Armor
Noted Changes:
- segmented and spiked tail.
- three toe nails instead of one.
- the dorsal spines are both elongated and exposed (on the left and right sides only, the center is still covered)
- the ears are now red, and now have an appearance of large eyes.
- the forehead horn is exposed bone, elongated, and serrated (like a combat knife).
- bone armor grafted on knees, chest, & shoulders.
- bone shield and bone sword.

this is EXACTLY what I think mega nidoking should look like the only critique I have is take the serated part off of the horn it just doesn't seem like It would fit in pokemon also the horns on the eyelids they don't fit the design very well also the back spikes only have one row and make them exposed bone but other than that this is amazing

Just so I know for future designs, which are the spikes and colors that bother you?

Well, I'd say the lighter ones on the back. They feel a bit unnecessary, it makes the design too busy.
As for the colors, it's mostly the green and red that seem to kind of appear out of nowhere.
I also probably would have made the body shape a little more different than the original, but that's just my opinion.

With the green in the ears, its actually the green in the original (or as close as I could get it).Β I just wanted a splash of red since the rest were so close to the original colors, but I see what you mean.Β
In general I am a less is more type of artist, I guess I did get a wee bit carried away.

Well, in cases like this I tend to think that "more is less", designs that are too busy often end up being less interesting.
