brensey β€” How Disney's Frozen should have ended

Description The risk of homicidal domestic violence isn't the only thing a princess should worry about when marrying a guy she barely knows.

Seriously, I loved Frozen (I saw it in the theatre with my sisters and it was the perfect bonding movie for us). But I thought that Anna hooking up with Kristoff at the end kind of undercut the moral of the Hans plotline (ie marrying a guy you barely know is stupid and real romance is more complicated than a fairy tale). Plus, as nice as Kristoff is, I get the feeling that a dude who was raised in the woods by Trolls with ZERO concept of personal boundaries wouldn't be able to maintain a relationship with a princess who is used to sleeping in a palace and using proper indoor bathroom facilities. Just sayin'.

I still think the movie is great and a step in the right direction for Disney regarding how they handle female characters (even though I still have issues with how bland and identical the female designs are in their big-ticket CGI films). But the movie would have been perfect if only Kristoff and Anna had ended up as friends (or their romance had been only lightly implied at the end of the film instead of blatantly spelled out). Having Anna hook up with Kristoff after knowing him only a tiny bit longer than Hans makes her come across as kinda stupid.

To be fair, Anna and Kris didn't decide to get married right away; they just stayed together.

"You win, Elsa!Β  I'm off to join a convent!Β  Have fun continuing the royal bloodline without me!"

I'm sure Elsa will.Β  A lot of men would be attracted to a woman with capabilities like Elsa's.Β  I know I would be.

This brings up a good question. So Elsa says it's wrong to marry a person you've only met for six hours... and yet when Anna brings back a man who lives in the woods his entire life and could be potentially crazy and knows him for a day and decides to marry him after a day, she's ok with that? That totally destroys the entire message the movie was going for!Β

Ummm... who said she decided to marry him after a day?Β It seems like at the end of the movie/the short they're only dating. Besides Kristoff is against marrying someone you've only just met, just like Elsa.

"Have fun continuing the royal bloodline without me!"

Heh.

Yeah, Kristoff needs more "fixing" than most women would be willing to stomach. Β Nice guy, but ...

Maybe it should have ended with Anna telling Kristoff that although he might be the right man for her, she's just gotten burned by love and that she isn't ready to commit to another relationship yet.

She didn't get married, tho. She's still getting to know him while still keeping up with the whole true love vibe disney always throws in.

That's just funny !! I agree with you that this Anna-Kristoff romance it's a little out of the blue, but they needed a "love story" to keep people Β believing that Β his kiss was save Anna, and then, finally, it was her love for her sister, actually, she saved herself (or her family love for her sister) ,and I found that brilliant in the way Disney is handling female characters... in the other hand, the only one that took a lot of time to fall in love, Β  was Belle (because he was not really pretty handsome at the beginning), Snow White and Cinderella, one song and they was in love, Aurore, just a look and a kiss...Ariel, a look, some seconds, one day to Rapunzel and Anna, they are improving ! LOL

I not agree,, in your opinion about identical looks for Β the females in the CGI Disney movies, they are, actually, quite different, Rapunzel eyes are biggest and rounds, her lips fuller and Β the tip of her nose round, in Elsa and Anna characters, they has thin lips, their nose tip is sharper, and their profile is quite different, more sharper and "adult", and theirs eyes are in almond form, maybe Γ  little bit Β with a Chinese form, like Est European womens..., I agree, the facial mouvements are quite similar, but they are 3 absolutely different characters...,

Nevertheless Anna is clumsy, courageous and carefree like Rapunzel nevertheless, and Kristoff makes me think to Bastien, the very first "Flynn Rider" that thanks good, was discarded for Eugene "sexy smolder" boy....

While technically they didn't get married, one could argue that they might have started dating and waited a few years before tying the knot.

Actually I think its fine. The way she and Kristoff fell in love was a lot more realistic and natural than the way she fell in love with Hans. They certainly didn't do the 'love at first sight' thing. In fact, they fell in love more slowly. Like, blame it on my hardcore Kristanna shipping and feels, but it was a lot more realistic. and its not like there was a proposal at the end, they just kissed. For all we know they could date for a few years before an engagement came about. I'd think that's the case, since Anna just learned the hard way to get to know a guy before becoming too involved with him.

I dunno, just an opinion of mine. I mean it in the nicest way (:

No worries. The comic is meant to be a tongue-in-cheek joke. Not an indictment against the Kristoff/Anna pairing. I'm not saying they're a bad couple. I just thought this gag was funny.

Sorry if I came off as defensive. It's just that one time some fan got REALLY upset with me when I did a similar "How it should have ended" comic for the Little Mermaid. So now I'm a bit paranoid.

Don't worry about it. It's hard to sense tone when reading a text comment. So sometimes I misunderstand someone's intent when they comment on a piece (especially after dealing with a few weirdos). But don't worry, you and I are cool. I know you meant well.
