Hi there. What poets are you reading?
I tried to think of some suggestions to help this, but I'm afraid I can't find much in it that lends itself to (at least my idea of) poetry. I can't locate much purpose behind the structure, interesting though it is -- attempts to read the piece in multiple directions, for instance, don't seem to amount to much that's intelligible. What is here is far too vague for me to meaningfully parse -- what angels, what monsters, kill them how? The terms of the piece are so abstracted from anything with definite nuance as to present something of a vacuum of meaning.

I know I could've added a lot more--you can always add more to poetry. It can always be explained different, with more background, more information. Explain it.
While I love reading poetry that way, I kind of end up writing somewhat vaguely. I like shorter pieces. I like having things that can mean different things for different people. Instead of clearly stating A, B, and C, I like having A, B, and C be objective. Fitting to everyone.
What an angel is to someone may not be an angel to someone else. Same for monsters.
I had someone tell me this reminded them of their childhood abuse, and then someone told me it reminded them of a quote about caterpillars and butterflies.
Both aren't wrong! All I had in mind was the fact that there's a lot of cruelty and bad things in the world. And people like to ignore, squash, or hurt each other. jealously, war, violence--even though the goal is supposed to be peace and happiness, people are kind of hypocritical to it.
There are good things, but we ignore them. We only think of the negative.

I don't hope to bring you any closer to grasping it, if you don't feel it--and I don't claim to be able to get my writing across the way I hope to. Sometimes, I don't have the right words.
But I'll keep yours in mind. Perhaps I'll expand on my idea.
