Description
My tribute to one of the greatest horror films ever made, John Carpenter's 1982 version of "The Thing".This is easily Carpenter's best film. All the elements - the writing, direction, acting, special effects, and music work together perfectly. It's got the fear of isolation AND paranoia, and some of the most brilliantly insane horror sequences ever put on film - thanks to Rob Bottin who, like Carpenter, was also doing the best work of his whloe career here. A perfect movie by any standard.

That was one of the few horror movies that actually made me sick to my stomach. I always get queasy during transformation scenes. Aliens, werewolves, the demon possessed, doesn't matter. All those bone crunching sound effects! *gags* I still love "The Thing" though. I do adore a good alien on the loose movie.

Truly a classic movie. I don't remember if I put this on my top five list when you asked a couple months ago but it should be there.
Your pic is great too.

Absolute kick ass
one of my favourite lines from that movie-
'You gotta be fucking kidding...'
lol I think we'd all say that if we saw a head sprout legs and run for the door
I think they're going to remake this movie at some point... I hope not. Remakes are always complete shit; and you just can't remake the Thing; it rocks!
*clicky*

Wilford Brimley was at the casino I work in poking around the poker room and when I ran into him I told him that The Thing was one of my favorite monster flicks and that he was great in it and he responded, "I was in that?"
Great piece as usual!

Bloody classic...it's even got Wilford Brimley, but he's not hawking oatmeal. But the venus flytrap head monster makes up for that. Brilliant movie, and great rendition of it.

Excellent composition. Great tribute to a horror classic. Fantastic linework and gorgeous colors. This film gave me endless nightmares when I was younger. I think it would get an NC-17 rating if it was released today. Jaw dropping special effects by Bottin and company. Thanks for the memories.

Ah I just adore how you can administer your own unique style to such great horror icons such as this...which makes me wonder...have you considered working with special FX for a short film or making your own? I would love to see whatever little beastie is pulling at your brain stem day and night..

No, I have never really been interested in making movies, but I do have a lot of stories to tell, some of which are already finished but most of which are not yet published. I have completed almost 300 pages of comics stories about my characters "Wulf and Batsy". I am the Ed Wood of comics, I guess.
I love movies like anyone, but when it comes to telling my own stories, I prefer to tell them in books.
