Description 5"x7" acrylic on canvas - SOLD

Part of my "Proof of Faith" exhibit at Art Whino.

This piece expresses some of my concerns for environmental issues. God has blessed us with such a beautiful and amazing planet and we are trashing it beyond repair. We don't own this earth. We need to start behaving the way we would as when we are guests in someone's home.

I saw something kind of like this on DA...it was a spoon, and on it was a miniature Forest...
It's sad that so many people have such disrespect for this earth. Maybe if they realised that we are as much apart of it, as it is as much apart of our heads and lives, they would learn to love and respect it. We need a new dream.

We need to care about things other than ourselves. People figure it won't get too bad until they are dead, so why care. Ugh.

What a wonderful image. I love how it tries to address the issue to everyone that the Earth really needs to be taken better care of. Great picture and great thought.

Ah. Understandable. You know, I used to live in Alaska and I knew a guy with no car. He rode his mountain bike ALL YEAR. He was so funny. Denny's is a big hang out in Anchorage during the winter, and I'd be sitting by the window when he would come riding through the parking lot doing a wheelie in the ice. That guy was crazy.

I always wipe my feet. It's just polite.

The choice of an evergreen is unusual for environmental issues and it makes you think a little differently about it.

The evergreen, I think, is nature's persistence to stay alive amidst all change and of our destructive tendencies. Once the human race is gone, the earth will rejuvenate through the hand of God.

It's different to seeing a deciduous (spelling!?) tree where we are used to see it dying and coming to life again. The thought of a browning evergreen is horrifying.

A much stronger statement I feel.
