possibly my newest favorite piece youve done bryan. i really enjoy your "rag doll" figures and the colors you got going are killer, as usual. love the work man!

Excellent work! An unusual use of the colours. Theyre not colours you would normally associate with the emotion that is expressed in his face, but their brightness somehow puts alot more focus on his emotions.

Bryan, this character looks like you, is that your intention? What I understand through the arrows, is the pressures from everywhere, the pressure to change, to be cool, etc, etc, which could effect us in a way where we start losing ourselves inside. Is that what you wanted to share through this piece? nice play with the contrasting colors: )

Yes, there are so many pressures one can face, including guilt, worthlessness, and depression. God can heal all of those things, but only if we are ready to let go of them.

Is the fire more judgement from the outside or something totally different?

I just like those colors for representing the intensity of the situation.

Apparently men get attacked when drinking coffee? J/k man great emotion and sense of suppression. Is the sun supposed to elude to a halo/Jesus or is that coincidental?

The sun is more meat to highlight his thoughts. He feels guilty, and convicted, and afraid that everyone is judging him. The coffee is just because I drink coffee all day long, so it somehow makes its way into more than half of my work.

Just tried to feel what he might be feeling. You know, like how an actor has to get into character, I try to get into character of those that I draw or paint. Glad you like it

that's exactly what I have to do too.. otherwise they'll end up coming out just like me, hyper happy spastic. If I'm drawing a screwed up character I need to get into that mindset.
