Description Where do I start? This one came from the motivation to exemplify a child’s exploratory mind. In reality, the little boy in this painting could be sitting on a small block of wood in the center of a mud puddle in his backyard, but this is what he would see. As adults, when do we lose this creativity? When do we cast aside the backyard adventures of playing cards with mermen while an octopus-like creature seeks to take down our ship? Reality is necessary, but not as a direct replacement for the imagination.

Original is 16”x12” acrylic on canvas - SOLD

The more we lose the ability to be child-like, the more childish we become.

Thanks. Reality is an illusion anyway. We have to learn to learn, as what we think is real is just what we want reality to be.
