Name: Goddess

Real name: Pryksha Sammadar

Powers: Light manipulation - she blinds her enemies but can also make daggers of light to fight with. She can make “hard light” constructs, but for a very limited time - it drains her powers greatly.

Outfit/Physical: Pryksha is a voluptuous East Indian woman, born in rural India. She is in her late twenties, with bombshell physical features. Her costume consists of a blue patterned saree with a red overlay/cape. She has a traditional bindi on her forehead.

Bio: Pryksha was born in a very rural part of India, where she was expected to do the bidding of the male members of her family and village, but Pryksha was unafraid of speaking up and asking why. When she was ten, one of the men in the village thought her smart mouth deserved a backhand or two. Cowering in fear, Pryksha channeled her emotions until it became a blinding rage. She turned this rage into a blast of light that blinded her attacker. The others of the village (including her own family) thought she was a demon, as a result, and tried to cast her out. Her aunt knew that Pryksha was something special and smuggled her to America with her. As poor immigrants in Gigatopolis, they had a very hard life, but Pryksha’s aunt taught her core values of hard work, dedication, and helping others. Over the years, Pryksha’s abilities grew stronger and stronger, until she could command them at will. Pryksha is still largely unsure of herself and her abilities though - she is still worried that there’s something wrong with her and chose not to become a hero. Instead, Pryksha was discovered working in a coffee shop and became an actress and model, which is still her cover story. Still, as much as she wanted to ignore her responsibilities, she could never leave them behind completely. Her Aunt’s tragic murder brought her home to Gigatopolis and taught her the dangers of what happens when people with great power take no responsibility. Model by day, superhero by night - she is Goddess.

Personality: Pryksha is cautious, suspicious - a childhood of hardship and mistreatment has caused her to be wary of her surroundings and of others. She tends to be slow to anger but will respond quickly when one of her teammates is in danger. She is not above a flirty wink or joke but is mostly serious when trouble rears its head. She gets along well with Mighty Gal and rolls her eyes at Maelstrom. Skarlette has a grudging respect for her since they both grew up on the streets of Gigatopolis - but there’s a bit of jealousy there as well. She hates misogynists and people who underestimate her or her teammates because they are women. She feels very motherly towards Jinx and worries about her safety. In terms of romance, Pryksha is familiar with many lovers of both genders but prefers women.

Weaknesses: Making Pryksha emotional can cause her powers to go off the rails, including causing friendly fire. She is plagued by self-doubt - is she a monster? A demon? Can she be trusted? She’s also terribly uncomfortable with enclosed spaces.
