Description
Fantasy castle with sister castles in the vicinity, set next to a steep gorge with waterfalls and looking out over spectacular mountain scenery.Architecture might be considered a blend of fantasy medieval with some kind of retro-future characteristics.
Landscape is definitely "unusual" topography, rather fantastic and monumental.
Technique: Small pencil sketch, mostly 2H on white paper, then scanned, darkened slightly, background "paper" added, and titles added. Good example of keeping what's important in focus and letting the extraneous details and other scenery fade away. A sketch is done when it says what it needs to say!

Good chance it will get a re-do and maybe a close-up detail to show the castle in tighter detail, similar to the Cascadium castle,look in the gallery.

I have to agree with your statement on focusing on what is important. It emphasizes and draws the viewer to that which you want them to focus on, while giving a periphery of information otherwise.

Oh, wow!Β This is stunning!Β Love the way it's built upon arches.Β It looks totally unassailable.Β I'd love to look out one of the windows of that top tower - the view would be spectacular (once I got done wheezing after climbing all the steps, that is.Β lol)
