Your pieces leave such an impress on one... I am so glad that i am becoming more familiar with your sculptures because, even from the point of view of the untrained eye, there is something quite moving about them. I'm blahblah-ing but they are very thought-provoking.

Thanks once again. I really am pleased that you like them. Although I don't think you have an untrained eye, I appreciate the input. I have no idea how these will be recieved where I am. I am nervious and your comments give me reassurance.

I don't suppose it really matters how art is recieved - just as as long as it is recieved. Only good art has the ability to provoke an opinion - even if it is a bad one, the art has still done its job because the person was moved to think. Or feel. Or whatever it is we do. Your sculptures have that quality.

Its a new take on an old Japanese form of firing ceramics where one takes the piece out of the kiln while still orange hot to complete the fiing process. It is much more diresct than simply leaving them in until they cool down. It is exciting and fun. I highly recomend it! Thanks for your compliment.

I admire your linguistic abilities. Very interesting. This (DA) has been a great place to meet people from all over the planet.

I really enjoyed doing raku firing. You got some amazing textures out of that.

It looks like the more sophisticated cousin of my Lurm. [link]

Raku firing was the MOST fun we had in my sculpture class- we only got to do little bitty pieces but we all enjoyed it thoroughly and everyone's came out great. Yours is creepy <3 XD.

Creepy good I hope Thanks. I'm glad you got to fire raku for sculpture. I'd like to see the walls between sculpture and ceramics knocked down more often.

There are raku clays that are't as course you might be able to try. It is weird to throw too. Give it a try.

The work you put into constructing your photographs are very well worth it. I am very pleased to see your gallery-I am very glad you stopped by. Thanks

It'd disturbingly beautiful... the colours are amazing! I'm afraid I'd have to agree with ~Driandrain, it does bear an uncanny resemblance to a mummified scull... which only adds to the emotive response it brings out...at least for me

I am so glad to hear people react to it. I usually hide most stuff under wraps until I show it- that tends to make me anxious around the time of showing them. Thank you for your support.

Sure! I was just curious - was Eraserhead on your mind when you were doing this or is it just the collective unconscious coming through?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bukwessul In reply to vesponti [2006-12-08 12:44:07 +0000 UTC]

I'd have to admit neither. I look at these forms as being neither male nor female, no specific race. What I'm after is more of what effects us as human beings rather than the specific.

Eraserhead was a great visual movie and thats' why I appreciated your comment.
