Relatable! Luckily I've overcome some of that, and am comfortable with people from my class. New acquaintances are still a pain unless they're practically throwing themselves at me, though...

I was somewhat shy too, but mainly it was 'cause most everyone in class shunned me for being fat throughout school, and I quickly grew to expect this kind of behavior from everyone who's not an adult. It even got as bad as avoiding shaking hands with me despite this being de-facto greeting for every man here no matter the age, as well as having to deal with me in any form. I was basically an exile, kind of like if I was in a church while being a demonic being. So I just ignored them for the most part.That worked against harassing in middle school, and demanded the least amount of effort, so I just stuck with it even when it stopped working later on, especially since I didn't know of a method that works and is still in my power. Although there was a period when I was treating any incoming contact with a hope for decency, but what I got most of the time turned that into fear of not being accepted, which still lives. So my poor socialization, aside from asshole classmates, is from not bothering to look out for contact considering it not worthwhile.

nah dude trust me I can totally relate I was an obese child, even wii fit called me obese XDD.
I was bullied alot for my weight and other physical issues, that I suppose I will talk about later in my comics. But kids can be cruel lol ^^.
I was actually bullied alot as a child from both freinds and family, and for multiple different reasons (whch again I figured I'd mention later when I'm farther down my art career...)
and believe it or not I completely understand what you mean for hope of decency. And I'm still going through and struggling with that right now. I trust no one right now, and I honestly need to start opening up again with people, it's just hard from being screwd over by so many people X.x. Lol but I'm sure you can relate to that aswell, I suppose everyone goes through this stage in life, and I'm still going through it right now. But I hope one day I can find people whom I can relate to irl, just gotta keep hoping right ^^? lol
so it's alright dude I completely understand never be afraid to express yourself I'm always happy to talk ^^!

What's weird is that some of the bullies even turn around by the end of high school (maybe they finally grow up?.. Nah, not these ones hah), I even had one who was trying to act nice to me, although I never fully accepted that, still suspecting another plan to screw with me behind that. And you don't exactly go "peace friendship bubblegum" or whatever the saying is after being my greatest pain in the butt for like 4 prior grades - too late, you're already the untrustworthy asshole & the villain of the story, enjoy your popularity and gtfo.

but I can see what you mean, but honestly sometimes holding a grudge isn't the best approach. People are immature and make mistakes, he could be sincere, and honestly forgiving people is mutually beneficial to both parties, although trust me I understand it can be hard... And forgiving doesn't mean you need to be friends with the person, it just means you yourself have moved on and although the pain is real it's technically in the past.
I've been struggling because a lot of people who were being mean to me are being nice again, and I've trusted and had the trust broken multiple times over. But I chose to forgive them now, but move on and not try and be friends again.
(also you'll never know who will become a great asset for you. There was a girl in my science class who was always mean and condescending to me, but because I forgave and honestly just moved on I was able to have her as a partner for some projects and that was good because she honestly knew her stuff and we were able to work together and get a good grade on multiple projects.)
but I understand it's really hard to go through this things, and sometimes even harder to forgive... But in the end, sometimes it's best to do so ^^'...
