What really stands out, for me, in this photo is that railway bridge. The type of construction, the brick used and everything about it screams a British design. It's quite odd. Apart from the signage, that bridge wouldn't look out of place in the centre of East London.

It likely is British design! It might have been built before the war, or aright after. A lot engineering was brought over from Europe to Japan during the industrialization era as well.

It's a complex and vivid city for sure. There are loads of spots like this as well.

I used to walk down that middle path from Shimbashi station all the time when I used to stay in Tokyo. Quite an exciting area.Β
